"Duck Max's" niche in the Marshall decathlon team is to make people feel better- his scores are so horrible that other team members can't help but feel better about themselves. Duck has the highest grade point average on the team, as he displays "maximum effort" in all his classes. Max's high speech and interview scores are due to his endless hours of practice, not his charm. Max enjoys riding his "tank," the old, beat-up, red Volvo that is used to transport him to and from Eagle Rock.
