Lesson 3 - Letter and Activity

A letter: Dear Senada,                                                Brisbane, 22-10-2000 Thank you for your lovely letter.  I am sorry I haven't written for so long.  I have been really busy.  I know this is not a good excuse, but I hope you will understand me, because I know you are very busy as well.  I will try and remember everything that has happened since my last letter to you. As I said, I have been very busy - with my school work.  Last week I had three assignments due.  They were very difficult, especially English.  We had to analyze some strange poems.  I hate poems, I don't understand them!  I know you are good at that - I should ask you for your help!  Anyway - I have done those three and now I have some more work to do. The biggest thing is a biology project, which I am doing with a group of three other people.  You might remember some of them.  I haven't been very close to them before, but through this work I found them very interesting and we became friends.  They are Jack, Megan and Linda.  Do you remember them?  They were in the other class when you were still here. Jack is funny.  He is very entertaining.  He can make you laugh in the middle of maths, which is horrible.  He has red hair and green eyes.  He plays basketball and loves dancing.  Megan is blonde and very attractive.  She is so skinny!  She is a ballet dancer and she spends much of her free time dancing.  She doesn't do any other sport.  At school, she is very good at poetry, like you used to be.  She is a very calm person.  Any maybe you remember Linda?  She has brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.  She is a perfect swimmer.  She also loves roller-blading.  Sometimes we go on the beach together.  She isn't good at poetry, but she can understand biology well.  She was in Mr. Gillie's class last year. Have you heard from Miranda?  She started to sing in the City choir!  I didn't know, but I went on a concert with my mum the other day and I have seen her singing.  I went to her and said hallo afterwards.  She was very pleased to see me.  We don't see each other much since she has changed schools last February.  My mum was impresssed with her performance as well. Mum wanted me to do some singing too, but she soon gave up on me.  I am hopeless and I don't like it either.  I prefer my volleyball and drama.  I still enjoy them thoroughly. That's enough for today.  I would like to know how you are going.  Did you find any friends yet?  How is your little sister?  Say hallo to her. I will wait patiently for your next letter.
