The gray seal survives in the bitterly cold Northern seea, insulated by its thick layer of blubber and waterproof fur against water cold enought to kill a human in minutes.
The gray seal has big eyes to see well in murky waters. It has no external ears, but it has a sensitive internal hearing aparatus. It's blood contains a high amount of haemoglobin, which enables him to stay underwater for up to 16 minutes.
