Adjectives describe people or things. They are used with a noun or pronoun. 1. Proper adjectives are formed from a proper name and require a capital letter: a german book, the Australian bush,... 2. Descriptive adjectives give something a particular quality: a sour lemon, a beautiful boy,... 3. Quantitative adjectives indicate how much of something is spoken about: much damage, disadvantaged people,... 4. Adjectives of number indicate the number of things spoken of: three books, ten thousand miles,... 5. Indefinite adjectives also refer to the number, but they do not give a definite quantity: many, several, few,... 6. Demonstrative adjectives point out which particular thing is indicated: a, thge, this, that,... 7. Distributive adjective are used to indicate the qualities that are distributed among the individuals or things in the group; each, every, either,... 8. Interrogative adjectives ask questions: which, ahet, whatever, whose,... 9. Possessive adjectives denote ownership: my, hers, his, our,...
