The teacher should prepare some pictures of people, cut from newspapers. Each student should get one picture and should observe it well and make up some facts about the person on the picture. Teacher facilitates a dialogue or alternatively, the following activity can be printed and used. |
1. Look at the picture from the magazine and use your imagination to answer the following questions: What's his/her name? How old is he/she? How tall is he/she? What colour is his/her favourite? What is his/her favourite food? What kind of music does he/she like? Where does he/she live? How many people live in his/her household? What kind of a person is he/she? What does he/she do? What nationality is he she? Is he/she married? What does he/she do in free time? What kind of sport does he/she like? 2. Ask similar questions other students in the class about people on their pictures. 3. In groups compare data for all the people from pictures and answer the questions: a) Who is the oldest person? b) How many men and how many women are on the pictures? c) How many children are on the pictures? e) Who is wearing lipstick? e) Who likes to listen to modern music? f) What do the majority of people do? g) Who is the tallest? h) Who swims? i) Who likes reading? j) How many people like Italian food? k) How many people are not Australian? 3. Describe a normal day in the life of the person from the picture> 4. Draw the following clothing for the person on the picture: a) Blue and green jacket. b) Red blouse/shirt with three green buttons. c) Yellow hat with black stripes on the top. d) Pink T-shirt with purple pockets. e) Pants with red dots on its pockets. f) Multicoloured striped scarf. g) Blue bag with golden handles. 5. From the magazine cut one set clothes that you like the best and write why do you like them. Write why you like these clothes in the first box and glue the picture/s in the second. 6. Form groups to play a game. After comparing your clothes and people on pictures, send one person away and with other people chose one person from the picture. Then put all the pictures on the desk. Call the person who has been sent away and tell him/her to guess which person have you picked. He/she should ask questions that can be answereed only with 'yes' or 'no'. |
