25 years ago a close friend sent her partner love notes on sticky backed note paper. She used to stick the notes in his suits, inside his car, in his work documents. She was sure he loved getting all that attention.
Recently a work colleague told me how she would put sticky backed notes in her children's lunchboxes every day. She would write comments concerning recent events or just try to cheer them up. She was sure the kids really enjoyed that kind of communication and the notes continued for the whole of the children's school life.
I looked at recent research into the area of personal communications. The research confirms what most people already knew, that effective communications is at the heart of everyday life and is the key to finding solutions to many modern day social problems. In the UK we are not a communications rich culture, communications difficulties exists at all levels and between most age groups in society. Poor communication costs us dearly. Needless to say better communications between people, as well as a need to laugh together were identified as key areas in the research.
Out of these experiences came; 'MightyMessages', or MM3 for short. It is written to inspire the creation of more and new kinds of messages using almost any media, in order to stay ever more in contact!
