Josh biography

The youngest child of Laura and Allan Charles, Joshua Aaron Charles was born on a September 15th , 1971 in Baltimore Maryland. His father is partner of an advertising firm and his mother a columnist.
Josh wanted to be a baseball player, being an Orioles fan, but that didn’t work out. So he pursued an acting career and studied at the Baltimore School of Performing Arts and the New York’s Professional Children’s School. He started doing stand-up comedy when he was 8 years old age at local clubs. Josh participated in Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center. Here he performed in "Equus," "Dark Of The Moon," "The Court of The Stone Children."  He also played Baby John in "West Side Story."

He debuted as a film actor when he was 15 (1987) in John Water’s “Hairspray” where he played Iggy.

  In his movies, he has proven to be a very versatile actor: he can be a shy boarding-school boy (Knox Overstreet from "Dead Poets Society), an irresponsible messy guy (Joe Talbott of "Crossworlds"), a sensitive gay student Eddie from "Threesome"), a cold blooded criminal (Tyn of "The Grave"), a patient loving boyfriend (Peter Silverblatt from "Meeting Daddy")...

is TV series he has accomplished to give his character Dan Rydell many faces in all kinds of situations he lives personally and in the set. Currently he lives in Los Angeles.
