Scenario Name: The Return Of Captain Universe
# of Players: 3-4
During the Infinity Challenge Earth finds itself nearly defenseless, as most of its Hereos have vanished. Many Villians who were left behind are attempting to use this time of weakness to thier advantage. Several groups of Villians have descended on a secluded test facility in order to sieze a new experimental Vibranium bomb. Little do they realize that Earth still has the "Enigma Force" to protect it, and its inhabitants.
This Scenario can be played on any map, with any size Forces (although 300-400 Point Forces are recommended). Players will also need to create a Marker to represent the "Vibranium Bomb". First Player will control the Heroes of the Scenario while all others control Villian Forces (this is just a suggestion, Players may change this if they wish). The first Character that First Player picks will be the Character that is imbued with the Enigma Force. That Character should have 100 Build Points added to its standard Point cost while building the Hero Force (ie. If First Player picks Experienced Spider-Man (82 Points) as the imbued Hero, this Character is considered to be worth 182 Points for Build purposes. Note: This is only for Build purposes, the Character is still only worth 82 Victory Points at the end of the Scenario.). Setup and Play is as per the Standard Rules (pg. 5-22), with the only exceptions coming from the Enigma Force empowered Character and the Vibranium Bomb.
The Vibranium Bomb (VB) is placed 5 squares away from the edge of the map, in front of the Hero Force containing Captain Universe. In order to pick up, and move, the VB a Character must have Super Strength, Telekinesis, or similar Super Power (the VB cannot be used as hand-to-hand or ranged weapon, and it is treated as Blocking terrain.). Any Character picking up the VB must end thier Action the moment they lift it, also if the Character takes any damage while carrying the bomb they automatically drop it into an empty adjacent square of thier choice. The VB can be destroyed by any attack that causes 5 or more clicks of damage, but in doing so all Characters within 4 squares take 6 clicks of damage (this damage is nothing compared to what the bomb will do if properly detonated.). If any Characters are KO'd by this blast thier Point values are subtracted from the Player's final Victory Points who caused the detonation (the destruction of the VB is not desired by any of the Forces.). Also note the the Character imbuded with the Enigma Force will not take any damage from the detonation.
The Hero empowered with the Enigma Force gains the following abilities (Note: that in some cases existing Powers will become boosted, or added to.):
1) +2 to all Stats (Speed, Attack, Defense, and Damage)
2) Gains Flight (Markers will need to be made in order to show whether the Character is Soaring or Hovering)
3) Toughness (This is in addition to any other Defense Power the Character may have. If Character already has Toughness or Invunerability, this Power adds an additional Click of Protection to them. Giving a Character with Toughness 2 Clicks of protection, and one with Invunerability 3.)
4) Ranged Attack (Character gains a Ranged Attack ability with a 6 Range (single target) and causing Damage equal to the Character's original Damage amount, that is the Damage amount listed on the dial before being augmented by the Enigma Force. If the Character already has a Ranged Attack they gain Ranged Combat Expert, this is in addition to any other Damage Super Power they may already have. If the Character already has RCE then they gain an additional +1 to thier Damage, giving them a +3. Also note that Characters with preexisting Ranged Attacks will always use thier normal Range instead of the granted 6 that is givin to those that do not have one normally.)
5) Character gains Willpower (This is in addition to any other Defense Power the Character has, including the Toughness granted above.).
6) Cannot be Mind Controlled (This is self-explanatory.)
7) The Enigma Force cancels the effects of the Battle Fury "Super Power" (Thereby allowing the Character to use Ranged Attacks, and to be carried by flying Characters.).
8) If the Hero Passes an Action or is unable to take an Action (due to Pushing, etc.) he/she heals 1 click of Damage.
*Victory Conditions* This Scenario ends whenever any Player KOs the Captain Universe Character, when Captain Universe's Force is the only one standing, or when one of the Villian Forces returns to thier starting area (that would be the same area on the map that thier Force started the game at) with the VB. Note: To end the Scenario the Character must spend a full Action dropping the VB off the edge of the map (they may not approch the edge and drop it off in the same Turn). The Force that captures and gets away with the VB also gets an additional 50 Victory Points for the capture. An optional 1 hour time limit can be used if all Players agree. Victory Points are then determined as per the Standard Rules (pg. 22-23).
