FILE: real name: Jessica Drew 1st apperance: Marvel Spotlight #32 1977 group affiliations: Hydra, New Avengers powers: superhuman strength and agility, can fire bio-electric "venom blasts", immune to all forms of radiation status: returning to costume adventuring after a long hiatus joining the New Avengers Avengers membership: New Avengers #1-current (after disbandment of the original team) BIO: Jessica Drew grew up at Wundagore, a huge citadel built by her father Jonathan Drew and his collegue Herbert Wyndham. The scientists discovered uranium on their land used the money to built their citadel to conduct genetic experiments. Unfortuantly, Jessica became sick due to exposure to the uranium. Jonathan Drew injected Jessica with some of his experimential vaccine of irradiated spider blood. Wyndham placed Jessica in his genetic accelerator to also prevent her death. Jessica's mother Merriem died shortly after and Jonathan Drew left Wundagore, upset over these events. Years passed and Jessica remained in suspended animation. After Jessica was 14 she was released by Wyndham, now called the High Evolutionary. She discovered that she had become stronger and could fire electric energy blasts. The High Evolutionary left her in the care of Bova, a half cow/half human creature created by him. Jessica went to a local village and met a boy, but accidentially killed him with a strong venom blast. Jessica was rescued by Count Otto Vermis and trained her to become a Hydra agent. Jessica was brainwashed into believing she was more spider than woman. She was given the code- name, Arache and given a crimson and gold costume. Her first mission was to kill Nick Fury, head of S.H.I.E.L.D. When Jessica learned what she was doing was wrong, she fled and renamed herself Spider-Woman. She died her light brown hair, black to disguise her idenity and set up in London. more later.....
