Strategy:
When the game first came out, I wasn't sure how they'd handle Cable in the game, which is why I didn't really start playin with him until after I'd gotten the hang of the variated combo system. It's a surprise and not a surprise at all that Cable is just about the best character in the game. (Not a surprise cause he's basically a marquee character on this game along with Ruby heart) They would decide to bring him in when Apacolypse ain't around, huh? He can get in and smack you around with a decent array of ground combos, or counter-act the cowardly tactics of the "cheap", with his long range game. With the right assists, he's almost untouchable. He even has the ability to combo up about three specials in a row without losing the opponent.

Best assist: [Tied]
Anit-air (Scimitar)
Projectile (Viper beam)

While battling a large opponent: Use all your options, guns, guns, guns, dash attacks, and some grenades. Try not to get close unless you dash or get in quick and get a good combo goin. Just remember, big guys hate the Hyper Viper beam.

While battling a small opponent: If you got a fireball happy kid goin shut em' up with the Viper beam, it doesn't even have to be the Fierce one, do some dash attacks and try to get your opponent jumping so you can catch em' with a grenade then use the Hyper Viper Beam.

While battling an average opponent: Cable seems slow but has quick attacks, try ground attacks and only jump if you do a Viper Beam or grenade, use the Scimitar attack only finishing combos, it's not very accurate and it leaves you open similar to the Shoryuken attack, and avoid dashing too much, your one of the bigger guys in the game. Cable and Captain America are pretty similar in size, but if you compare them to the large guys, they're average.
