Capcom almost went all out in toning down characters in this game. This is basically a comeback game for the characters that were almost forgotten and the new breed. None of her specials connect off the combo like they used to, and they completely eliminated the air Demon Rave move (C'mon Capcom, ya coulda just took some of the damage off) A low FP definitltly doesn't guarantee that you'll connect with her Hyper Lightning super. It now only connects after a low FK. The up side, it doesn't juggle the opponent, and it tacks on every single hit. The down side, the opponent can roll out of the sweep if they're fast enough. It's in your interest not to sweep too much, and the Hyper Kikosho is pretty much useless without an assist to keep the opponent stunned long enough for it to kick in, as it doesn't even connect after the sweep anymore.
Best assist: Projectile (Standing fireball)
While battling a large opponent: Use all your quickness, you can outmatch any large character in speed so keep dashing an opponent but look out for counter attacks, you are the master of throwing, just remember, the larger they are, the easier to throw.
While battling a small opponent: Look out for projectiles, Chun Li is a born thrower, just as she started out on the origional Street Fighter, so don't worry about being thrown too much. Worry about projectiles, dashing in air might help you out if they're throwin too many projectiles.
While battling an average opponent: Keep them at bay by doing some low kicks, you will always be outmatched on projectiles, but your speed makes up for that. Keep the close attack strategy and if you can, just throw the opponent then they'll be running away from you the whole game and you can use your assist to prevent them from blocking as often. If they keep attacking your assist, give em the good ol' Kao-Ken force field. |
