Strategy:
  Thru most of his career, Zangief has been one of the most underestimated. Technically, he doesn't have a projectile. (unless you turn into Metal Zangief) Both incarnations have their strengths and weaknesses, but for assists, Metal Zangief is the way to go. His Double lariat has all kinds of priority over air attacks.
