| Some Crazy Shit |
| It's been a long time and I've lost interest in this game, maybe picked it up a couple times over the past 2 years. The discussions I've had over the years concerning this game was a lotta fun, but you gotta face the facts that this game is nothing more than a classic, a thing of the past. So needless to say I've moved on with a lotta things, and I didn't see the point of updating anything here. I never bothered adding anymore combos since I couldn't get a copy of the games on PS2 or X-Box to test out, and I ended up completely forgetting about the whole thing. This kinda shit happens when you get older, your entire time eventually becomes consumed with work and bills. The free time I used to have playing games, watching tv, and various other interests were replaced with booze and gettin laid. So needless to say I've been outta the loop a bit. It was just recently that I've come across a review that completely nailed everything I believed in games that kinda died out. There were a few I could care less about, and some are obviously outdated compared to today's games, but they still have some merit. Here's a review that reminded me a lot of the rants I'd go on about games, this was back around 2003 when I kept saying "They need to make this game", and obviously the #1 was mentioned here already. The guy in this review is "Studdering Craig" (I think the other guy in it is 'Handsome Tom'), who is fairly enjoyable, but I'd place the Angry Video Game Nerd ahead of him just because he's more original. So here's the review of 'Top 10 Games That Need To Be Made'. #10 - Star Fox - I would have placed this in the top 5, and it's mainly due to the upgrade Nintendo 64 did with the game. The best part of the game was the VS mode, despite the fact some of the moves got annoying, you got used to them and nothing else mattered. They need to utilize the same concept of spaceships shootin each other to hell, if Star Fox was the shit back on N64 then why the fuck wasn't it on GameCube and the Wii? They need to get with the fuckin program. #9 - Power Stone - This was one of the first games I ever touched on the Dreamcast, and I really enjoyed the hell outta this game. I never actually bought the game because I was the type who rented games and would beat the game in a matter of a weekend, but it's easily one of the best games I've ever played. It's easy to learn, I thought it was extremely innovative for it's time, and I couldn't stop playin the damn thing. #8 - NBA Jam and NFL Blitz - I'll start off with the NBA Jam titles, they were my favorite in the arcades as a kid. I remember it being a damn quarter per quarter you play, yes 4 quarters would equal 1 fucking game. Now aside from me being pissed about having to pay a buck just to play a game, I really enjoyed NBA Jam and NBA Jam Tournament Edition. The aspect of going to whatever arcade, entering your name and password was kinda nice because you could actually finish a whole season and the top scores were all listed until they turned the damn thing off. I also liked how they kept it simple with 3 buttons, and it was brilliant to keep the game 2 VS 2. Not only did the create a solid concept, but they also had a lotta hidden features and codes. The games were also so simple they worked perfect for the SNES and Genesis. NFL Blitz was one of my favorite Playstation games ever, there were 2 games I kept on PS, NFL Blitz and X-Men vs Street Fighter, both of which are likely scratched up beyond recognition. The NFL Blitz games were awesome, when I first seen the game and seen a tackle, I was fucking sold. I even found out you could press the Start button and tackle after the plays dead. Everything about this game was awesome, I even lost a ton of times with those bullshit random fumbles, and I was still havin a blast. They need to keep the games simple again, even if they gotta make up teams and players since they don't have the NFL license. #7 - Earthworm Jim - I really liked Earthworm Jim, and I agree that they should have made another game, but it should have been on Playstation or Nintendo 64. Most of the gamers around don't even know who he is, but I could see it happening on a handheld game. When it comes to Earthworm Jim, I'd rather leave it alone. More than likely they'll just upgrade the graphics from one of the other games, and after seeing that Clayfighter bullshit I'd rather see him left alone. #6 - Super Mario RPG - This was the first RPG game that I got completely hooked on, and it wasn't just because of the familiar characters. This went the extra mile with RPG's, and instead of walking around waiting until the screen would give your epileptic friend a seizure, I found myself wanting to find all enemies in sight. I really enjoyed how you could press buttons to get extra hits and more damage. If they did wonders with a 16-bit platform, I would actually buy a Nintendo Wii just for this game alone. I also remember a random part where one of the Shyguys (pretty sure it's one of them) was watering a plant and said,"It's recycled water." I was quickly slapped for yelling out,"Bullshit that's fuckin piss!" #5 - Conker's Bad Fur Day - This was when I realised that Nintendo finally got over that censorship bullshit, well, that and the South Park game on the N64. They simply didn't fuck around when it came to makiing this game, I seen a cute furry little character in Diddy Kong Racing turn into a drunk bastard who didn't give a fuck about anything. It hasn't even been too long, it's entirely possible to see a sequel. |
