| OK, I would like to start off by complaining about Adelphia's PowerLink service. They feed you a big line of bull about always being up. I had this entire page done, COMPLETE, and when I went to save it, Adelphia booted me and I lost the whole damned thing. I hope I can remember all of the garbage I typed. Especially since I wrote a poem on the spot and now it is gone. UGH I HATE POWERLINK!!!!!!!! Anyway, on to my trip to Phoenix. We went to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona, Mexico, Phoenix (duh!), and Scotsdale. The Grand Canyon was absolutely amazing. I couldn't see enough of it. I want to go back someday and hike down into the Canyon and camp there. I would so love that! I didn't get to see the canyon at sunset like I'd hoped to, but maybe I can do that in September! Flagstaff is where we stayed, and we didn't really see too much there, but Sedona was fabulous. The red rocks were just completely breath-taking, another place I would like to camp sometime. The main streets of the city were lined with all of these quaint little shops where you coud find almost anything. I bought my mother some cactus jelly, and got myself some cactus-scented incense. Mexico was not what I expected. I guess I wanted to go into more of the shops, but since we got there so late in the day, I didn't get to. I didn't know that everything closed up at like 6pm. I did manage to find my mexican blanket, my authentic Kahlua, and a bottle of tequila (complete with worm) for a friend while I was there. I did not, however, find any silver rings to my liking, a small disappointment. I would have liked to have gone into a bar while I was there, too, and ordered "una cerveza, por favor," but again, next time. Sunday we just perused a Phoenix mall where I bought some books and played with the puppies in the pet store. And on Monday we went to Old Town Scotsdale, which didn't look that old at all. It was just a bunch of shops clustered together into about 3 blocks. It wasn't bad, though, I did have some last minute souvenirs to buy, All in all the trip was ok, I definitely needed more time to spend at the places on my list. But again, I guess that will have to wait until next time.... |

| Alright, time to bitch about my surgery now. Somehow iin my day-to-day goings-on, I have torn the meniscus in my knee. What's a meniscus you may ask (as I did)? Well it's this little piece of cartilage that sits between your leg bones to make your knee joint glide smoothly. Well since I have torn mine somehow, they are going to do arthroscopic surgery. I am thinking that it won't be too bad, but I guess I will be out of work for about a month. So, I will be updating this page pretty often I would guess, as I will be bored silly. My doctor really hasn't told me much about what to expect out of the surgery or what my recovery will be like, so I am basing my assumptions on what other people have told me about their arthroscopic surgeries (all conflicting reports, though). So, I guess in less than one week, I will have a better idea of what's going on. If you want to help keep me from being bored, feel free to e-mail me in the coming weeks, I could use the reading material... | ||||||||||||||||||
