| Well I guess you are here to read about my recent knee surgery. It went fine. In fact, I even have a few pictures of the inside of my knee that I will be posting right here on this page, so if you are at all squeamish, don't scroll down to the pictures at the bottom portion of this page. When the surgeon went in, he found that I had horrible amounts of wear and tear in my knee. He originally went in thinking he just had to repair some torn cartilage, but found out that there was so much more to do. He removed the piece of cartilage that was torn (it regenerates I guess) and then went on to shave the cartilage on the top portion of my lower leg bone ( I'm not sure which one) and then he had to shave the underside of my patella (knee cap), and after that he had to cut into my tissue so that he could actually move my patella over as it was in the wrong place. He will also have to do this to my other knee, but we are waiting until it begins bothering me before he goes in. The pictures at the bottom of the page will show you what was done, I guess. They're a bit hard to make out though. Anyways, the surgery was a few days ago (on Tuesday) and I am already walking around without crutches, as I have been for a few days now, and I can bend my knee almost to 90 degrees. I am told this is good progress. I have to start physical therapy and when I go back in two weeks, the doctor will have a better idea of when I can get back to work. I guess that might not be such a great thing to look forward to, even after this sweltering heat... |

| I feel the need to bitch about the heat. It is so f-ing hot in my apartment. My landlords are anus-brains and won't allow air conditioners. How awful is that? Here I am just out of surgery, stuck in my oven of an apartment, melting in the heat and no AC. Yet, for some odd reason, one of my neighbors has AC... hmmmmmm. Is this fair? I think not. Grrrrrrrr...... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
