All
information on these pages was researched and compiled by students in Mrs. Mary
J. Smith's class in connection with the students' end-of-the-year senior
projects.
Each
page contains two poems by the poet plus a brief biographic study and the
students' analysis of the noteworthy elements of the style of the poet, based
both on student response and student-gathered research.
Each
poem included here in some way "takes the top of the head off" of the
student who selected it (in the way Emily Dickinson suggested great poetry
should).
Our
hope is that you will use the pages to introduce yourself to the poets and the
works that these students found to be the most appealing.
All
pages are accompanied by works cited pages in MLA format as well as related links that will lead
readers to more resources.
