We actually did a bit more tday than just sleeping! :o)

The first watch tower again from a different angle. You can go in here as well, but you have to pay and we didn't think it would be that spectacular, so we didn't. (the fee would have been 2RMB I think...)

This is the second watch tower near Qianmen.

We walked to Qianmen, this is the first watch tower there.

The Mausoleum. You can still see Mao here if you r willing to wait in the queue long enough...

The statue next to the Mausoleum on the left hand side.

This statue has been erected as a monument to the shooting incident in 1989.

Government building next to TianAnMen.

Obviously, Tiananmen is being guarded v well. You are not allowed to step on the grass, or enter the square w a bike.

Close-up of the monument. Those of you who can read Chinese might be able to make out what it says. I haven't paid attention to it yet...

Our first view of the Forbidden City. They were refurbishing this in 1999. They obviously haven't finished yet. Grmph. It looks a lot less pretty this way I must say, without the characters and all.

I really like this statue, so here it is again from another angle.

We walked from TianAnMen to Siu Shui, the Silk Market. This is the front view. The entrance is under the orange sign.

TianAnMen Square. So this is it, it is humungous. Apparently one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) square(s) in the world.

The Museum of Chinese History. I was in there in '99 and it is quite interesting. This is where we met the art students... (ahum ahum)

Jianguomen Waidajie. We walked from the Silk Market to the WTC. Have no idea what the building is, am sure is company or similar.

This boy was sooo cute! Too bad he was just yelling @ his parents when I took this pic, but he was completely adorable! :o)

Then we went ice-skating in the WTC. Vincent was a bit shaky at first...

So was I actually, but it was sooo much fun! Of course all the Chinese found it quite funny as we were the only laowais there. Plus the Chinese ice princesses were skating circles around us...

After the ice-skating, we went to my old favo restaurant to have my old favo dinner: Jieshao kaorou. The restaurant had changed a bit, and so did the food (no lamb, only beef) but the food was still delicious... mmmm.... Vincent totally agreed btw. We even took the one and only couple photo of this holiday here in this restaurant. ;o)
