First Meeting

  1. FORCES OF ERROR: Unmasking Chardin’s Modernist Manifesto. Continue our review of the evil career of Teilhard de Chardin, one of the foremost architects of the false religion of Vatican II. Discuss the account of his "exile" to China, and his refusal to engage in any genuine priestly work for souls during this twenty year "mission". Instead, he sought further publicity for his heretical evolutionary theories in the "discovery" of the so-called "Peking Man". (15 min. report; 10 min. discussion)Reference: "Unmasking Chardin's Modernist Manifesto"; "The Evolution Hoax Exposed."
  1. MARY IN DOCTRINE AND DEVOTION: "The Burial and Resurrection of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Her Glorious Assumption." Similar in all things to her Divine Son, the glorious triumph of the Blessed Virgin Mary was not completed with Her happy and holy death. She had also to resemble Him in the glory of the sepulchre and in the triumph of Her Resurrection. The sinless body and soul of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and her triumph over death, demanded her exemption from the common corruption of the sepulchre. Since God has granted this singular grace to many bodies of the saints, how could it possibly be denied to His Immaculate Mother? St. John Damascene rightly states: "How could the corruption of death enter that body from which Life itself had sprung?" But incorruption was still far too little for the definitive triumph of Our Heavenly Mother. The real conclusion of her mortal life could be nothing less than a new life in a glorious Resurrection, a new immortality communicated by Her soul and to Her body, thus constituting a perfectly Christ-like life which would never know death. As Mary is the beginning of Christ, it is impossible to separate the Mother from her Son. Hence it follows, as a natural consequence, that Christ must put an end to that state of things which, so to speak, hindered the relations between the Immaculate Mother and her Divine Son. They were separated from each other, and so it was imperative that Our Lady should join Him as soon as possible. Jesus and Mary must meet again in Heaven, since they had lived so closely united here on earth. (15 min. report - 10 min. discussion)

  1. THE COURT OF OUR HEAVENLY QUEEN: We cannot hope to dwell one day in the Heavenly Court of Our Immaculate Queen unless we strive diligently in the pursuit of holiness. The blessed who already dwell in Her Heavenly Court are inspirations for us in this pursuit of that life of holiness to which Jesus calls us. Feasts for discussion (read the entire list, and then choose three whose lives and virtues may be discussed): St. Cyriacus, Holy Helper; St. Jean Marie Vianney; St. Lawrence; St. Clare of Assisi; St. Joachim; St. Hyacinth; St. John Eudes; St. Helena; St. Agapitus; St. Philomena the Wonderworker—discuss her life, martyrdom, and miraculous intervention in the lives of the faithful; the devotion of the Cord of St. Philomena; St. Jean Marie Vianney, the Curè of Ars, who had such a fervent devotion to St. Philomena. (15 min. report & reflection; discuss briefly the lessons learned and virtues taught by their lives, and how to practically apply these virtues in our own daily lives.)

Second Meeting

  1. THE CATHOLIC DOCTRINE: Introduction to the Catechism, part IV— "The Wickedness of the World". Consider in sequence the following points: (1) Christ is the Light of the Created World; (2) The Light of the World imparts Eternal Life; (3) Who Can Receive the Light of the World? (4) The Light of the World Cannot be Seen by "The World"; (5) Christ’s Kingdom, therefore, is Not of this World; (6) Satan is the Prince of this World and Worldlings; (7) A Disciple of Christ Cannot be a Disciple of the World; (8) The World Hates the Light because it is Evil; (9) The World Hates all Those Who Walk According to the Light; (10) The Condemnation of the World; (11) Christ’s Victory over the World. (15 min. report; 10 min. discussion) Reference: Traditional Catholic Catechism-Introduction, part IV—"The Wickedness of the World."
  1. MARY IN DOCTRINE AND DEVOTION: Feasts of Our Lady—Our Lady of Altötting (within the Octave of the Assumption); the Seven Joys of Mary; Our Lady, Health of the Sick; Mary, Refuge of Sinners; and Our Lady of Consolation of Kevelaer. A true devotee of Our Lady loves to celebrate all of those feasts which give greater honor and glory to the Queen and Mother whom he loves so tenderly. Discuss the lessons taught by these beautiful Feasts of Our Lady, and identify the manner in which we may profit by Our Lady's intercession under these titles. (10 min. report - 5 min. discussion)
Reference: "The Glories of Mary" by Liguori; "True Devotion to Mary" by De Montfort; sermons - "Feast of Our Lady of Altötting," and "The Marian Feasts of August"; article on Our Lady of Altötting.
  1. PRAYER, THE CHIEF DUTY OF THE CHRISTIAN: Continue our consideration of the fourth condition laid down by St. Thomas Aquinas for authentic prayer: perseverance. God does not grant to us the grace of final perseverance immediately, but delays it, in order that, first of all, He may better prove our confidence in Him; secondly, that we may long for this grace all the more vehemently. Great gifts, he says, should be greatly desired; for good things soon obtained are not appreciated as much as those things which have been long sought; thirdly, so that we may not forget Him. If we were already secure of persevering and of being saved, and if we had not continual need of God’s help to preserve us in His grace and to attain salvation, we should soon entirely forget Him. (10 min. report; 10 min. discussion)

Third Meeting

  1. FORCES OF ERROR: Unmasking Chardin’s Modernist Manifesto. Discuss Teilhard’s extensive travels during the time he was supposed to be working with souls in China. Observe the typical restless activity of an active Modernist, according to the description of Pope St. Pius X in his condemnation of the errors of the Modernists. Finally, review "The Dropping of the Veil", which recounts the last years of Chardin’s life, during which Pope Pius XII openly censured the position advocated by the French Jesuit for the past twenty years.

"My Immaculate Heart will be your sole refuge and the path that leads you to God." Discuss what is meant by a true devotion to Mary's Immaculate Heart and how it is evidenced in the lives of her true children, especially by making REPARATION for the sins which wound her heart; what is meant by a false devotee of Our Lady? Discuss how to promote devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by individuals, homes and families, classrooms, and communities; (15 min. report - 10 min. discussion)

Discuss two or three of the following: St. Bernard; St. Bartholomew; St. Louis IX, King of France; St. Augustine; St. Joseph Calasanctius; St. Rose of Lima; and the Feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist. (10 min. report & reflection; briefly discuss application)
