I have been cross-dressing on and off for over 25 years. I use the term cross-dresser rather than transvestite. I feel transvestite sounds too vulgar and what we do is certainly not that, at least on the surface anyway. What some may proceed to do one cannot say.lol Much has changed for me as far as dressing goes over that period. Perhaps the greatest change has been the availability of the internet as an outlet for the expression of my feminine alter-ego to the world. The internet has been very instrumental in providing myself with a healthy outlet for Mary I would not otherwise have.
As I stated above much as changed in myself since I first began to dress so many years ago. Why I started is as much a mystery to me now as it was then. That plus the fog of years. I started my cross-dressing experiances as a teenager and much of it was driven by hormones and it was more of a sexual thing (Yes, I will admit that.). That has changed drastically over the years. It is much more than a sexual experiance (that is almost a nonconcern these days. Although, like all women we get to feeling sexy and frisky now and again, lol). To me it is fullfillment of my whole being when the opportunity arises to dress. I get such a feeling of completeness and peace. It is also the greatest stress releif I could have. There is a male and female side to all of us, my female side is just more active at times.
Yet, despite my desire to look and feel as feminine as possible at times (never enough!) I still enjoy being male and enjoy doing those "male" pursuits as well as being a father.
It is a matter of finding a balance of the two and hopefully reaching that equalibrium and the associated harmony and happiness that goes with it. I still strive for that place, as many of us do. I only hope my site and the contacts and insights it opens up help achieve that goal. |

A little more about me
As I have stated above I am a male as well as having this stronger feminine side. If you look at my list of favorite things you will notice the obvious paradox this creates.
I love to curl up with a good book on a cool night. Often with a stiff drink to relax after a long day or a good cup of coffee. Preferably in something soft and flowing. My choice of reading? I prefer history. I consider John Keegan the best of the historical writers of our day. I am a very big Civil War buff and like Ancient Roman History and the Revelutionary War era, as well. If I read fiction it is Tom Clancy or one of the Science Fiction masters, Asimov, Herbert, Heinlein or Tolkien. (notice they're all dead?) (showing my age) lol
For music I like most all types, even country, at times. lol. My favorite is good dramatic sound tracks that have an uplifting beat ( Gettysburgh, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, etc.) I like female vocalists alot, #1 Basia, Sade, Madonna and Anne Lennox in particular and last but in no way least the wonderful Irish diva Enya. I also like new age music and some of the old bands CSN&Y, The Eagles, Pink Floyd. (Again showing my age). Add Bruce Hornsby and Billy Joel in there as well.
I don't watch much TV except historical documentaries (Wow fun date!) lol I also like sports. I like Pro and College Football, Womens U.S.soccer, Track & Field, and of coarse that southern tradition NASCAR. (What can I say I am a southern Girl! LOL)
I like movies and being a family man use the VCR to death. Here again I like dramas and especially historical drama. My Favorites include Gettysburg, Last of the Mohicans, but I also like Pretty Woman and other softer movies. When in feminine dress and mode I will watch tear jerkers and let loose. A healthy display of emotion I so unhealthily keep pent up too often. |
