ARE WE ON PROBATION

In the USA, we have a system where one that has been convicted of breaking the law, can be given probation, instead of prison or jail time. In such cases this person has to check in with a probation officer, rules, and regulations must be adhered to, or they loose this privilege.

I really like to compare our spiritual walk with many different things. It helps me to understand it a bit better sometimes. At other times it is just fun to see the parallels between things. So I was thinking about us, how we had totally messed up our lives so to speak, broke laws like crazy, and a time of reckoning came. For some it is not until the resurrection day. We see in the scriptures that it is appointed man once to die, then judgement. Heb. 9:27 For some of us, we were called according to His purpose. When we answered this call, all the rules we had broken had to be paid for. Col. 2:14. At this time, since the penalty of sin was death, the Messiah having took our sins upon Himself, we so to speak were placed on probation for the rest of our life.

Many finish their probation time are released, and go back to the life of crime. If we stay true to our Father, do not break probation, we are changing, growing, learning a new way of life. One of joy, peace, and love. At the end of our life we will receive a new body. 1 John 3:2 We are told we will see Him as He is, be like Him, and know Him as we are known. 1 Cor. 13:12 To me this is mind boggling. I am going to be love, as He is love. I am going to shine as the sun, it says. I am like my human parents, but it does not mean I am equal to them. So I will be like Heavenly Father and His Son, but not equal to them.

As I look upon my son, and husband, my heart swells with love, and somehow any imperfections they have gets lost in that love for them. Our Father with a love so much greater than I can even imagine, a love that is like He is, just solid love, is what He see us, His children with. Just as a little child never questions a loving parent, where, when, or how they are going to feed and shelter them, we too should not even be concerned over such things. He can forget, and He can forgive, because of this awesome love He has for us.

Our Heavenly Father extends a hand that will never be withdrawn from His little children. His love permeates His whole being for His creation. When we receive His Spirit, He puts His love in us for others, and love has no hurt, no probation being broken. We have no desire to be like we were, because what He gives is so good. He is helping us through His Spirit [Romans 8:], and is showing us a better life than we ever knew before. The old one we really do not have a desire to remember, or go back to. We see it as He sees that old way of life. Yes, we can grow lax, and not care, then we will soon find our selves not wanting to be His child anymore. It is not locked in, we are told if we walk away, that is it, and will not want to go back to Him. He will set us free, only if we want to be free.
