We read of long ago when America was young, how men packed up the
families and headed west. Onward ho was often heard ringing in the ears
of weary travelers. They had risked every thing they owned to go west for
a better life. To start new settlements, and many out of greed for gold
in them thar hills. When they started out they knew the cost was high
and it could cost them their very lives. They started out with wagons
loaded with their possessions that often along the way were discarded.
They did good to get where they were going with the skin on their backs.
Yet in spite of all of this they went anyway. Now just look at the
country where many dreamed of going and few succeeded in reaching.
We too have a record of men, women and children that made a trek across
lands of hostile people. People who had dreams of a country far away. A
city of streets made of gold, a river that never ran dry in summer or
winter. No hunger or thirst. They called themselves pilgrims. Their
citizenship was not of earth but heaven.
We see in the book of Hebrews about what those folks endured. We also see
something else, they could not have it without us. They are in their
graves today waiting for us to be called too.
Read Hebrews 11:
Today each of us has and invitation to join on a journey started long
ago. We have been given a destination. Just like those weary folks that
started out for the western part of our world long go had to cast off
baggage, we too for our journey must be constantly be casting off excess
baggage. Only back then they left their belongings and sometimes it
meant dead along the way as some of the things they cast off was vital to
their survival.
Those pioneers started out soft most times, yet if they survived to the end
of the journey they were tough, wiser, and stronger.
When they traveled sometimes they were without water for long stretches,
and maybe not enough food. They were at the mercy of the land, and
attackers.
What about us on our journey? Does the adversities of life make us
stronger, more determined to make it to the journeys end? I was looking at some things about the help we get when on our journey in life we have problems.
We have been RENEWED SPIRITUALLY and have a LIVELY HOPE. ( living
hope?)
In the human flesh, we grow weary, and hopes sometimes grow dim while
waiting for them to come to pass. Yet we are told in the Spirit we are
renewed.
23 We have been BORN AGAIN, not of corruptible seed, but of the
incorruptible Word of YeYa. which lives and abides forever. It is not
the fleshly part of us on a journey but a part of us we can not see. The
flesh is along for the ride so to speak, and it will complain about every
little inconvenience, and try to make the new person in us go off on it's
own way.
We are told that we are to BECOME LIKE NEW BORN BABES, longing for the
word for pure and spiritual milk, that we can grow to salvation by it. We
have food in due season. No looking for the next water hole, and then it
may be poisoned.
We are KEPT BY HIS POWER. 1 Peter 1:5 through faith in Yahshua/Jesus.
This is a power we are told that no one can take us out of His hands! WE
HAVE LIVE ETERNAL.
We have and INHERITANCE incorruptible and un-defiled, and does not fade
away, and is prepared in heaven for us. No promises in the sky, then it
not happen or not be real, only some wild story.
We are told when we get tired, and are heavy laden with life to go to
Yahshua and He would give us REST.
We have PEACE
We are told to NOT BE AFRAID. To not be dismayed at what we see in our
life, because HE WOULD BE WITH US FOREVER. We do not have to depend on
our wits for survival, nor be frighten of the enemy.
We are called a ROYAL PRIEST HOOD
NO MATTER WHAT ENEMY COMES AGAINST US WE ARE PROTECTED.
Here it says.
What shall separate us from the love of Yahshua/Jesus?
Death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things
present, nor things to come, not height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Yahweh, which is
in His Son our Master and High priest.
In our life we have a narrow path to follow. It is not a wide open range
and we choose the path we think is best. We are told that when we are
walking on it that no matter what happens that we are under the watchful
eye of the Father and His Son. It is His will that we succeed. It is
not a path that is dull and dreary to follow. It is exciting, wonderful,
and has many rewards found along the way.
The Word is the road map in our life, Yahshua/Jesus the trial master. His love
is our umbrella in storms. His strong hand is there to lift us up when we
need a lift. He knows about all the ups and downs, and there is no
surprises for Him. He will lead us safely through the passes, mountains,
rivers and desserts in our life. He has all the supplies we need, and it
is to Him we look for each days provisions.
What He has started in us, He will finish if we do not quit.
