| Moluccan Cockatoos are the largest in their genus. They are of light salmon pink colour, and the undersides of their wings and tail are tinged with a more yellowish salmon colour. they have a large crest, and the beak, legs and feet are blackish grey. males have dark brown/black eyes and females have red/brown eys. moluccan Cockatoos have a life expectancy of approximately 70 years or more. Moluccans are native to the Moluccan Islands of Indonesia, and can be found in woodland and cultivated areas. They are considered an agricultural pest in their native area as they cause a great deal of damage to crops. Moluccan Cockatoos have probably the loudest screech of all cockatoos. They have naturally very distructive behaviour and will soon chew up and rip apart anything in your home if left out of its cage unattended. Hand reared Moluccan cockatoos can make wonderful pets for the right people, as they become easily tame and trusting. They form a strong bond with their owner and will shower you with affection. They can also gain an impressive volcabulary. |
