JJ is a truly lovely natured bird to have as a companion Parrot. A little bit about Australian Kings- they have a non aggressive nature and although not a cuddly touchy feely bird, they love to be with and around their owners. They are very funny, active and talk reasonably well. They do not, however, do well confined in a cage and must have liberal amounts of freedom or be kept in a big aviary..
JJ came to us after our very first bird Jam , also an Aussie King past away unexpectedly. JJ is named after Jam …Jam Junior hence JJ.. JJ is maturing into a beautiful young Red Head as all males do slowly from about 12 months to 2 ˝ yrs. JJ had us fooled as a baby and we thought he was a she ( all information we read said they young chic`s beak begins to turn black at around 6mth of age and the males starts to turn red) well... see the pix below- looks Black to me..lol.. We started to say 'pretty girl' confident we had it right. Before long JJ was repeating 'Pretty girl', then at about 10 months of age we noticed a change and her/his beak started to redden so we promptly started with 'Pretty boy'!!! Confusing, but in no time JJ was repeating pretty boy !! The other words he has in his vocabulary are ..I love you ….Kiss …Kiss for jj…what are you doing?? Wheres the birdies?? Come on !!! He mimics the phone and microwave as well as Sunnys scream Whaa Whaaa (our sun conure) which is pretty annoying but funny also , it sounds like JJ is making fun of Sunny ..he also has my very loud laugh to which everyone responds with fits of laughter when they hear him which makes him laugh even more till we are all in hysterics ...
We are very proud to be choosen to share with you the love we have for JJ..
Thank you for the opportunity ..
