The Bridge of Time

Welcome to my garden,
Come in and sit a spell.
We'll gaze upon the flowers,
Sip spring water from the well.

Now down the winding pathway,
We'll stroll together arm in arm.
In my garden of God's beauty,
We're secure and safe from harm.

We'll sit upon the garden bench,
Oh look! The bluebird there.
Some mourning doves and sparrows,
All safe within God's care.

Delphiniums and poppies,
Roses bloom galore.
The decor is so lovely,
Grass carpet for the floor.

Twilight's gleam upon us,
We share a cup of tea.
This day has been blessing,
To have you here with me.

We cross the footbridge o'er the pond,
And cross toward the gate.
So lost were we in memories,
No realization of how late.

At the entry to my garden,
We embrace - I watch you go.
Brings back pleasant memories,
Of childhood, long ago.

Come soon to visit me again,
The pleasure is all mine.
And we'll walk the golden pathway,
Across the bridge of time.
