	Ladybird Childern in class-room Ladybird Childern with their Parents Ladybird Association Marzey realised that more and more children in Karakol did not attend school and started begging in the streets, Marzey started Ladybird Association, which has a main objective to support the education of children. After some preparatory work during one year, in 1999 the first child was supported to attend school again. After only three years there are 20 children in the program. They are all from poor families that have not enough resources to send their children to school. Now all of them attend again the public school and they get some addition tutoring in different subjects if required from the Ladybird Association team. The Ladybird team consists of Marzey and a number of local woman volunteers supporting the activities. They visit the children, make sure they have adequate clothing for winter and utensils for school. Ladybird is also covering the school fee for the public school if the parents cannot afford it. Volunteers act also as tutors and mentors for the children. Additionally, one secretary is employed part time for administrative purposes and a watchman is looking after the premises. Our cost is covered by sponsors whom are mainly friends and relatives of the friends. Sponsors are supporting one child or more if they wish and for the duration of one year at the time, the basic cost of one child is estimated 120 USD per year and with this we make sure every month the very essential product is bought and distributed directly by our team member.
