Stevie Nicks January 9th, 2000 @ The Sun Theater |
|||||
The show I went to on Jan. 9th at the Sun Theater was my first Stevie Nicks concert and all I can say is that it certainly won't be the last! Stevie's voice was very crisp and tight! I don't know if her voice is always like this live, but man it was great! It just proved that the voice we hear on the albums is really her voice. She moved a little bit with that foot problem, but like I said, this was my first time seeing her so I really don't have anything to compare this show with, but I thought the music was great, the back ups weren't too overpowering over Stevie's voice. The intimate setting was definitely fitting for Stevie. I really liked this venue. However, the five tiers should be raised more because its difficult to see over the people in the audience. But really, there is no bad seat in the house, its just the people that get in the way. Also, you sit at tables and what sucks about that is you're obligated to sit down the whole time or else people behind you start screaming at you (this happened to me). I was particularly excited to finally hear Stevie sing "Landslide" live, which was my favorite slow song in the set. I was especially anxious to hear "Gold Dust Woman" as well. "Rooms on Fire" was left off the set, wihch is a bit of a bummer just because I personally like that song, but no big deal. She did mention at this show about how the next time she will be playing some new songs, which is great to hear since she didn't mention the new album at any of the other shows. But I definately feel that the small venues are very good for Stevie, so whenever she can do it, she should! Well, that's really all I have to say....oh wait, there's one more thing...*THANK YOU VERY MUCH STEVIE NICKS* |
