Season of the Month | ||||
The lucky winner this month is: SPRING! We took this rare oppertunity to quiz this most prolific of seasons with some of our reader's frequently asked questions. Where do you get your ideas from? There is more knowledge inside the shell of a simple egg than in all of the books in the world. My work is based very strongly on this philosophy. Do you consider yourself more important than the other seasons, because you herald the birth of a new year? Laying the groundwork for the others is a lot of responsibility. However, I am truly building a beginning from scratch; I am building, as they do, on what has gone before. Reproduction isn't the easiest thing to handle; sometimes its more than a little embaressing. If you could meet any character from history, who would it be? Charles Darwin, probably. Either that or Sigmund Freud. Both are idols of mine and influence my work and my life everyday. If you were an episode of BLACKADDER 2, what would you be called? Uh... those are the ones with one word titles aren't they? 'Potato' and 'chains' and things? Umm... 'Spring'? What kind of question is that, anyway? Does it truly qualify as 'frequently asked'? I want to know what questions are infrequently asked. If you ever got bored of your job, what other career path would you follow? Well, I've always envied the easter bunny a bit. Its all very well being a major part of the creative process, but there's nothing like actually getting out there and being part of the action. I'd love to get out of the office more often. I suppose in another life I still would have been an artist. Its in my soul! Do you have any pets? Far too many to mention. Have you got any tips for someone who wants to get involved in the type of work that you do? Just don't mess around with the course of nature when it comes to life-cycles. Its all very funny after a few beers, but you'll have one hell of a complex knot to undo in the morning. Have you ever had any major arguments or creative disagreements with your colleagues? Well, we all get along as best we can. By our very nature we have conflicting personalities, its just the way seasons are. In general, if we keep ourselves to ourselves, nobody worries too much. Summer complains at me quite a lot though. "More rain this year please.", "Stop letting the flowers bloom so early, you're leving me nothing to work with.", etc. She doesen't realise how difficult it is to keep control of things like that. Thankyou for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come and talk to us. We hope you will visit us again! It's ok, I have plenty of free time. I'll visit again... if I ever win season of the month again! |
