The country is area wise bigger than Belgium and population wise bigger then countries like Denmark, Finland , Norway, Croatia and Slovenia (just to mention a few). But it sucks when it comes to sports , take for example the latest summer Olympic games , Switzerland took one gold medal in ........................have you guessed it yet ? No well in the very prestigious sport of epee which is a form of fencing. What kind of sissy sport is that?
They often try to explain there poor performance in sports by saying that Switzerland has not got a lot of population and therefore not a lot of people who do proffesional sports. Well if they started concentrating on real sports unlike fencing, milking the cows, who has got the most MIGROS Cumulus points or who makes the stinkiest cheese and hiking in the mountains they might be taken seriously in the sports world.
Snap out of it SWITZERLAND neither COW MILKING nor Cumulus point collecting IS EVER GONNA BE A OLYMPIC SPORT.
Tennis
Well let me think they got Roger Federer who at least can play tennis and happens to be No. 1 in the world (Not for lonf though). The mans not even a proper Swiss The man's Mother is a native South -African. Let's face it Roger Federer is no Don Budge, Maureen Connolly, Rod Laver, Margaret Smith Court and Steffi Graf who won the Grand slams back in the days. No he is not even worthy to be mentioned along with those Royalties of tennis and will never be so. He can start winning a carreer grand slam before he aims for the clouds. Perhaps winning wimbledon 5 consecutive years in a row like the great Björn Borg or six time champion Pete Sampras then he is perhaps worthy to be mentioned.
Football (club)
FC Basel is considered the best Football team in Switzerland for the moment. The Swiss league is one of the crappiest in the World. If it's such a great club how come Ronaldo, Zidane, Robinho and Shevschenko (only to name a few) do not play for FS Basel? because it one of the crappiest team and legues in the world.
There are 10 teams in the legue and they play each other 4 times during a season. So what type of players play in the swiss legue you ask? well top world class players like Chipperfield, Cabanas, Degen and Yakin. Who the fxxx has ever heard of them? well Yakin actually got a deal in Stuttgart and Galatasaray as a proffesional bench warmer.
Lets face it no Swiss Football player will ever be crowned the best footballer in the world or best european ever. Even small Countries like Denmark, Liberia and Bulgaria has had players who have been awarded this awards.Maybe a Swiss player will get the the best swiss footballer award next year..ha ha.
No swiss club will ever win the Uefa cup or Champions Legue ever.

Here is another joke , the swiss national team wins the World Cup 2006 agains Brazil 3-1, it's never going to happen.Itt’s like Switzerland winning against All Blacks in rugby or beating England in cricket.
Lets start with the FIFA rankings Switzerland is currently ranked 42 in the world, below teams like Finland , Costa Rica, Egypt and Iran. That show the level of the Swiss team. I mean they beat the Faroe Islands by 3-1 and it's like they have won the Worl Cup. The swiss play caotic, lifeless, boring football and should be expelled from the FIFA football associaion at once. They should start a FIFA LL association where L stand for low Lewel where countries like ; Faroe Islands, Lichtenstein, Malta , Andorra, Samoa Islands, India, luxembourg, Mongolia, Pakistan and Switzerland can play for the B world cup. Maybe Switzerlands A team can play the Paraworld cup and win something.
The swiss National team will never win any medal in any championship ever.
