The trailer for this movie is not that great and I know that this will not attract some people, I did attract me though because it has Tom Cruise as the villain and in all grey and it looked pretty interesting and the people who will see it had the same thoughts as me. I paid 13 bucks for this piece of shit movie. It was all worth it. I was entertained throughout the whole time and I will buy it when it comes out on DVD. Collateral begins with getting to know Max and Vincent. Max is you mannered Cabdriver who is saving up to own his own limo business and Vincent is out killing people and being bad. He is basically a contract killer for a bunch of Cubans. After that we get to know Max more when he drives people around and we understand the type of person he is. After that Vincent and Max meet and Max drives Vince around. They get off good and become good friends until Vincent makes a stop and kills somebody. Max becomes scared and now all hell breaks lose and Vincent keeps him hostage and pays him to drive around to the destinations of the people Vincent has to kill. Throughout the rest of the movie Max drives him to these places and tries to escape after every murder. Vincent ends up catching him all the time and the movie gets interesting. The action is great in this movie and we get good shooting scenes, the camera angles are excellent and the acting is perfect. Tom Cruise was a kick ass villain and he just stole the show. Jamix Foxx was shockingly good too. I would have never thought this guy could act but he proved it in this movie. Mark Ruffalo and Jada-Pinkett are also good in this movie. He actors fitted into their character's well and it kept me entertained. The dialogue in this movie was also informative and I did not fall asleep or look at my watch. Director Michael Mann has done an amazing job in this movie and I bet next week this movie wont drop 50% because it was that DAM good. There are some boring parts in the movie, but I didn't find them. My girlfriend thought some parts were boring but she said it was ok. As for me I thought this movie was amazing and pretty much all you males will like this one. I recommend you seeing this with a bunch of people and older audiences will like this movie as well. It was that good that I will be rating it a 9 out of 10. I took out one point because some parts did get boring but that was just a tidbit. This movie is worth your money and it is well made and the acting was done excellently. If you want to see a movie, pick this one because you will not be disappointed. Collateral is the movie of the month! |

So it began with the hyped "Freddy Vs. Jason", so that movie came out and the story was not well. But who honestly cares about the story, we came to see Freddy Vs. Jason beat the crap out of each other and that is exactly what we got. At least we understood the movie too. Freddy brings Jason so the people of Springwood could fear Freddy again; bla bla and we got a good story that makes sense. So Freddy Vs. Jason became a classic. So 20th Century fox comes out with Alien Vs. Predator, that of course will attract many people to watch it on opening week. So the point of 20th Century Fox making this movie is to get money. They don't care about the effects or anything. So ill they'll make a crap movie and market it well, they will expect an opening weekend big enough to make money for them, and at the end of its 2 week run the movie will have enough to give them profit. Even if people hate it. So this movie is expected to break records this weekend but expect like a 65% drop next week and make just enough money for a profit. So let's get on with the review. The movie begins with humans going to Antarctica because they discovered a pyramid that is under ice and it has been there the past 100 years. So they go there and out of nowhere Predators fly into Earth and go at the exact spot. They go in there and somehow Aliens are underneath there too. Then for the first hour the movie is all talk with the humans and they're wondering what is going on. They have no walkie-talkies so they cant communicate. The humans then try to fight with the Predator's but obviously there made out of metal and they cant. The movie then goes on about the ridiculous story and the Aliens fight the Predator's in the last 30 mins and they fight and it gets entertaining, after that the Predator's somehow become friends with humans and understand English. The end is completely dumb just leaving the door open for a sequel and copying the Freddy Vs Jason ending somehow. There were a couple of funny moments and cool fight scenes but it didn't save the movie. Now for a review, Alien Vs. Predator was by far one of the most over hyped crappiest movies ever. The Story was absolutely stupid, the acting was by far Gigli type, the effects were so low budget and it was boring 80% of the time. The ending was so stupid with the humans becoming friends. The story again wasn't basic and this was just a mockery of Alien which was good movies somewhat (I find them borring) but the Predator movies were great. This was a sorry excuse for a movie and it will be the first movie to get the P.O.S award. Im giving it 3 out 0f 10, the reason for the three was that the ending got the movie pretty interesting and when they were fighting it got cool and the crowd cheered and it was entertaining, and it was also to laugh at because some things were that dumb. I don't know if ill but this movie, I doubt ill be buying it, but I may if its cheap and there is no other movies to buy that month. The only reason ill be buying it is because its Alien and Predator in one movie. But this week check out Collateral or The Princess Diaries 2, they would at least be entertaining. Stay far from AVP! The critics are right about this one folks. |

There is nothing better that watching a buddy comedy movie, road trip of a type movie with your friends. Road Trip, Euro Trip and Grind were all great films to watch with your friends and now Without A Paddle is one of them. Without A Paddle is about three guys who go on a Forrest journey to look for some treasure and on their way crazy antics occur. It's your basic plot that you'll understand. So we start of the movie with them as kids wish is hilarious then one of them dies, so there is 3 left and when they are older they go look for Cooper's treasure and they do it for Billy (He's the one who died) So the movie begins with that and they try to find it but all this crazy stuff happens like they meet hairy girls, they lose everything from a bear and they get naked with each other, etc. Without A Paddle came out to be hilarious and entertaining. Seth Green comes out to be so funny and Matthew Lillard comes out to be a joker and Dax Sheppard is probably the funniest. Burt Reynolds's is in it and he is as well funny. There are some stupid parts in the movie but who cares. Of course you get sweet emotional moments but it's all good. There is one part where I laughed so hard when that are huddling, go see it and laugh your head of to see what happens. Most of the movie is just out to make you laugh and they do a good job. There is also a funny part involving weed and them getting chased by these two pot dealers. Also the bear scene is jokes. Overall, Without A Paddle is a great buddy movie to watch during the day with your friends, you'll love the movie even more when you watch it again and again on DVD and I will buy this movie when it comes out and ill enjoy it more. It's summer, so go see this movie with your friends. It gets the Gold Award! |

Just saw Going The Distance, which is a Canadian movie that I swore I would never want to see. Reason being is that I'm not much on Canadian films because they mostly suck, except a few but then again this trailer looked funny and it was a buddy road trip movie so I decided why not? So it's about a guy and his buddies, the guys girl goes to Toronto for the summer vacation and now he wants to go to Toronto to meet up with her so he can marry her, but then his buddies say to go on a road trip their on the RV and on their way there they pick up these hitchhikers who are girls and the fun begins. The guys parents hire someone to stop them to go to Toronto and all these crazy antics happens on there way there just like any other road trip movie. You got to love these types of movies, they are predictable but they're so fun to watch. I saw this with my buddies during the day and it was very funny from start to finish, it's not the best movie but it worth it, ill probably even buy this movie because it is pretty jokes, I am amazed with the movie as well because it's a Canadian film. You got good Canadian actors and artists in the movie as well. So if you like these types of movies then see this one for sure because it is pretty funny. I'll most likely buy it on DVD, since I can watch these movies over and over. Going The Distance gets the Gold Award. Watch a double header of this and Without A Paddle. GO CANADA! |
So now every single critic is pretty much bashing this movie, their only bashing this movie because before it even opened they thought it would suck so they bash it. Now it's not as bad as one would think. So the movie is about Father Merin's journey and the beginning starts of with Merin going to Africa, which he first encounters with demonic forces. So throughout the first 70 minutes of the movie, the movie becomes really slow. It's becomes a big waste and very boring. I was thinking about rating it the P.O.S. award since it was so boring is meaningless. There were some disturbing parts in those boring times including an ugly baby that was born, a kid petting a dead head, and a kid getting eaten by hyenas, and the hyena's look so fake. The CGI parts of the movie are not great; they look fake which is a disappointment. So there is this one black kid that everyone think is possessed and they think the devil is inside him and when people try to kill him they die, Father Merin knows that the devil is not in him. The audience can tell too because all the kid does is shake and Regan from the original did more than just shake. So we learn more about the pointless Lucifer and how the town is filled with demons and the movie gets stupid. But as I remember the original Exorcist, the start was a bit boring then it got better. But at least half of the movie was awesome and freaking scary. So the movie got a huge twist, we find out the demon is not in the boy, it's in someone else and the movie gets good. Father goes into the church buried underground and trys to find the demon, we get to see the demon and it is the same demon that was in Regan's body in the original film. The demon body was pretty freaky and it was a joker as well. In the original he would say, "FUCK ME, FUCK ME" and in this one the devil was pretty much funny the same as well, but he was around for like 15 minutes. This whole ending of the movie was scary, entertaining and when the demon moved around it looked very fake. Then Father Merin kills her so quickly and that was all. Then the ending shows him with the famous black coat and hat. So overall, the movie is not as bad what one might think. Yea the first part gets really boring but then the ending gets better. The CGI effects are really lame in the movie but the guy who plays Father Merin is excellent. His name is Stellen Skagard, I think that's how you spell but he played it well. There were also scary images in the movie, but nothing that will haunt you. The original is far much better then this one, this one wont get the P.O.D award but it will get a silver one. So I'm not sure if ill buy this when it comes out on DVD, if it's cheap and there is nothing else to buy then I might, if your thinking about watching this, it's not as bad as you think but it's not that great. Considered yourself warned. Have your opinion in this one. See it for yourself, it is not as bad as one might think. But then again it's not that great. |

I'm a HUGE Jet Li fan, so I was hyped for this movie. But I was disappointed that it was getting a limited release, until I found out that it was getting a nationwide release this week. So I had to check it out. I was going to watch Suspect Zero with the wife, but plans changed when I heard about this. What an amazing movie. When you first look at this people think its another Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but its so much more than that, and so much better. The starts off with a fight and its a roller coaster from there. The movie is presented in flashbacks to the present time, so its really interested and should keep your attention. The story basically has Jet Li's character (he doesn't have a name) who is avenging the death of his people and for the honor of the emperor. He has to go through 3 assasins who use names like Broken Sword, Flying Moon and Long Sky. Those 3 are out to assasinate the emperor but Jet Li stands in their way and tries to stop them from doing so, as well as settling some old scores. One of the things that annoyed me was that was too much CG. Not only that but you can tell at times when something was real and when it wasn't. It really lessended the realism in this movie. I hate CG in these type of movies. It sucks. There are some parts that are pretty boring, but the fight scenes make up for it. Jet Li is just so bad ass in this movie, you grow to love him. Acting is top notch in this one. You could tell all of these actors took everything pretty serious in this flick. Jet Li and Donnie Yen in the same movie is a dream come true for kung fu fans. They start out the movie with a pretty average fight. It could've been better. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie is #1 this weekend. But what is pretty sad is that people might only want to watch this movie because Tarantino's name is on it. Yeah the guy is popular but it kinda shows that Miramax has no faith in this flick to do good on is own, so they get Tarantino to slap his name on there. Capatalizing off the popularity of Kill Bill. This was released a while back in Asia and it was really popular, but North America is a whole different ball game. Ah well, thats what this is all for - money. Can't blame Miramax. In the end, I'm definitely buying this baby on DVD. Its a perfect addition to your DVD library if you're a kung fu fan (like me). Check this one out in theaters, its well worth the dough. Like I said, I was going to watch Suspect Zero with my girlfriend if I didn't realize this was reaching theaters. And I'm glad I did. So one more time - go check out Hero in theaters whenever you have the time. Peace. |
