Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London -Released July 13, 2004 -Frankie Muniz, Anthony Anderson -Written By Jay - 07/20/04 SCORE: 4/10 - Silver Award
The Movie: The movie itself wasn't too great. I'm old for these kinds of movies but I did see the first Agent Cody Banks and it was good. I even bought the first one and I enjoyed my purchase. I wasn't hyped getting to see this movie because Hillary wasn't in it and the other hot chick wasn't in it. They did add Anthony but it didn't change anything. The movie wasn't that good and it just tried to hard to become good as the first. The effects were good and stuff. The girl in it wasn't even hot or good in the movie. Anthony Anderson was funny in the movie but it didn't save anything. Don't bother renting this one. Just rent it for the little kid. That's it. The Disc: The movie is FULL FRAMED or WIDESCREEN and the WIDESCREEN one has better quality. The movie looks very crisp but the colour did disappoint. The colour in the first movie was bright and great. This one was just to whitey. This is just your normal movie to watch. The sound is normal, nothing big to watch it through Surround Sound. The Features: There ok if you're a kid. Nothing special. Just cool kid's stuff. Overall: The movie is good for the kid's to watch it. This movie is not worth to buy. It's not worth to buy for the kid's as well. I would not even rent it if you just wanted to watch it like I did. If you're going to watch it with your brother or sister, I recommend you RENT the movie for 5.75 and Blockbuster. If you do buy it, proceeds with caution.
The Movie: This movie was probably the best movie I have seen this year. It's a movie were you can't miss a single second. It's a fu*ked up movie that gets you thinking. From start to end you're in the movie throughout the whole time. Before going into the movie you think it will be funny because of Ashton. Well, Ashton is good in the movie; he was born to play this role. I do see some of Ashton's Kelso in the movie, but only some people will see it. Otherwise Ashton did a good job playing his character and it made the movie great. The other supporting cast did well. If you want to see a movie that well get you thinking and a movie you want to fall in love with. This is it! The story makes sense and you learn the effect of time travel. Ashton fans will dig this. Sadly the movie has shocking scenes in it..aka kiddy porn and killing pets. But still the movie is great that will make you watch for the whole 2 hours. The Disc: The disc is an excellent wide screen quality. New Line has made a great disc. The edges and color and printed on nicely. The surround mixes on the disc are excellent. With using the 5.1 Surround you'll get the full effect when Evan goes back in time. This is a great movie to watch on the big screen with great sound with the wife. For the Disc, Literally its double sided so there no print which sucks. Oh well. The Features: The film is Inifilm, which makes it great. The features and everything to this movie are excellent. The commentary is great. The deleted scenes are pointless in the movie but there worth watching. If you like this movie a lot, you'll spend quite some time viewing this features. The main Menu pages are great as objects move and the there's sound. I'm not going to talk more about the features because you know what they are if you check the DVD Releases page. The features are GREAT in this movie. There is also a director's cut which is great, but your better of seeing the theatrical one. Overall: If you love the movie, BUY IT NOW! If you haven't seen it. RENT IT! It's not worth the Rent. It's worth the BUY! If you're a little prick about movies, rent it. If you're not just buy this one because it's really good. There is two cuts in the film. I suggest you see the Theatrical one because it's better. The director's cut is not to good of an ending. It's worth seeing both but for first timers watch the Theatrical. Pick up The Buterfly Effect because it's well worth it.
The Movie: You got Ben Stiller in one corner, you got Owen Wilson in the other corner and pretty much you got the special guest ref Vince Vaughn. You also get a cameo from Will Ferrel. Put that all together you get a Starsky & Hutch film. So is it good? No it's not. It's hilarious. 70's show comes to the big screen were Stiller and Wilson take over the roles. They play the roles very well and the chemistry is perfect. The movie is so funny and it's got a good story. About Cocaine and the big kingpin organizing everything and the two trying to stop it. It's your typical buddy cop film that pleases like any other cop film. This one though is special because you got Wilson and Stiller. The movie is really funny and it was a hit at the box office. The movie has funny moments like when Will Ferrel asks them to dance for him like a dragon. There other laughable times when Starsky has coke and becomes so high. It's your typical buddy cop film with a 70's touch. This one is worth watching. The Disc: The quality for this film is excellent. Warner Bros makes good discs. This one has slick color and edges and its worth to watch on the big screen. The disc literally is pictured with Starsky and Hutch and Huggy Bear. The movie does not come with the chapter page in it just like any other new moves coming out which is stupid. You pay lots of money for a single DVD and they don't even put a booklet on the movies chapter list. How sad. The sound for this movie is great as well. This is a fine disc with no problems. The Features: This movie was a box office smash making 90 million at the domestic box office. So were expecting lots of features and goodies since we all loved the movie. What do we get? A 9-minute documentary and a gag reel. You got an audio commentary which is a goodie. Then you get 5 minutes of deleted scenes all in one peace. There not even separated. You got a 2 minute gag reel which is a goodie. Then you get a two minute thing were Snoop dogs talks and it sucks. Then you get something that's 10 minutes talking about the movie. The movie was a hit and we paid to see it at the movies, why can't they give us more features? There could be so many features for this movie, with interviews from the original cast, etc. The features here are sad and it will give you second thoughts if you want to buy the movie or not. The main menus don't even have music, just the Main one. Very sad features. Overall: Starsky & Hutch is a great film to watch and definitely worth the rent. I'm guessing this DVD was made for rentals. If your at blockbuster rent this one fore sure. Now if your thinking of buying it. Well, if you love movies a lot and buy them all the time get this. If you liked the movie but not sure if you should buy it, I would not. I think this movie will come out reissued were more bonus features, which honestly sucks. So wait for that. I suggest everyone to rent this. If you're a big movie fan get it fast. If you buy movies here and there, I would wait until this one goes for a cheap list price. Anything below 20 is good. It's a good movie but the features suck. Rent it. Otherwise if your thinking of buying it for 24.99, your warned.

The Movie: The movie is okay; it's not worth to watch at the movies, it's not worth buying and it's definitely not better than the original. It's play to rent this one or watch it on PPV. If you miss it on the rental shelves I wouldn't worry but if you're out renting a flick rent this one. There are some funny moments and the rest of the movie is very predictable, so I wonder why this movie bombed. It's not that bad of a movie as well. The Disc: The picture quality and the sound of the movie are perfect. There are no features so the creators made the picture and sound excellent. The Features: There's a trailer and a commentary. But all DVD's should have that. Basically there are no features. Overall: The Whole Ten Yards becomes flat compared to the original. It is a very predictable movie and fans of the original well be disappointed. Given the movies box office numbers there are no features, which makes this movie a rental. If you're a fan of this movie and love it (Which I doubt) but it. Rent this only if there is nothing else better on the shelf.

Spider-Man: Deluxe Edition -Released June 1st, 2004 -Tobey MaGuire, Kirsten Dunst -Written by Kev - 08/01/04 -SCORE: 10/10 - Platinum Award!
The Movie: This is the second movie ever to get an I,Movies Platinum Award. Why? Because this is one of the greatest movies ever made. Spider-Man is a favourite among the I-M Crew. This movie is about a teenager named Peter Parker who is a nerd and gets picked on all the time. One day, he suddenly gets bitten by this 'Super-Spider'. He wakes up the next day and BOOM! Spider-Man is born. He can climb walls, shoot web, you name it. Sam Raimi does an awesome job bringing Spidey to life. All the characters are great and the actors play them really well. I can't think of anyone else who could play Spidey than Tobey. Gylenhall? NAH. Tobey does a great job, he's got the nerdy look to him which works. The CG is amazing. At times you can tell its fake like this one part where Peter is running through the alley but I can tell you this - its better than the CG in Reloaded. There are great actions scenes in the movie and even emotional ones. Thats what makes the movie great. Its not ALL about the hero. Raimi develops all the characters equally so that everyone can feel and relate to them. This movie was a HUGE hit in the box office, more than anyone imagined. It was the highest grossing movie of 2002, so do I have to say more? The Disc: Everything looks great. The Deluxe Edition is only available in Widescreen which is way better than Full Screen. The picture is crisp and easily viewed. The sound is awesome as usual. If you got a big screen (KEV AND JAY DO!) then you will really enjoy this. Nothing like laying back on your couch and watching this baby on a 53'. Nothing. The discs themselves look nice. They are all pictures of the Spidey posters Sony released when the first one was heading to the theaters. You got Spidey on the first disc, Goblin on the second, and Spidey hanging of the U.S flag on the third. All good stuff. The Features: Like I said before, this movie was the highest grossing film of 2002, making over $400 million. So obviously you have to expect heavy features on the DVD. This Edition comes with 3-discs. The first two are the exact same as the original release. The extra third one is just as good. It has loads of behind the scenes features like how they made the suit, how they choregrahed the wrestling match, the works. Also they have special sneak peaks at Spidey 2 (if you haven't seen it yet. If you didn't...kill youself. I'll send you a knife in the mail). Like most re-releases this year, this one comes with a free ticket to Spidey 2. Anyway, back to the first two discs. I won't cover it all since its basically the original release from November 2002 (if you didn't buy it back then, then what the hell is wrong with you?! Don't make me send Jay's uncle Tyson after you). The first two discs are loaded with features. You got commentaries from the director and cast, music videos, TV spots, trailers, a gag reel, plenty of featurettes, and more! Very well worth the dough on this package. Overall: Spider-Man is a classic. Its entertaining and fun to watch. If you didn't buy the original release back in 2002, then this is a good time to buy it. You get the original package plus an extra disc for $25. That's really worth it. After 2 years, Spider-Man is still a hit to watch and enjoy with the family, the wife, by yourself, whatever. Just watch it if you haven't seen it yet. Especially if you want to watch but the sequel but haven't even checked this one out yet. I don't know what else to say. This movie killed it in the box office, you get a free ticket to the sequel, and I,Movies gave it a Platinum (Yeah, we rock). Pick it up NOW!

The Bourne Identity: Explosive Edition -Released July 13th, 2004 -Matt Damon, Franka Potente -Written by Kev 08/01/04 -SCORE: 8/10 - Gold Award
The Movie: Another re-release review here at I,Movies. So Universal has pumped this one out again to get fans ready for Bourne Supremacy (check out our review for that at the Movie Reviews page). Bourne Identity is one of the best spy thrillers to come out in a while. Even today, the movie is still exciting to watch. The movie starts with you seeing someone floating in the ocean. A group of people rescue after seeing them on thier boat. You find out that this guy (Damon) doesn't know who he is or how he got in the water in the first place. So they bring him back to shore after nurturing him for a bit and there begins his 'quest' to find out who he is. Along the way, he passes by assasins who are out to kill him and as the movie goes along, you find out why and more. Damon did an awesome job in this movie. He plays the character really well and the fight scenes are great. Props to Damon for learning how to whip ass like that for the movie. There are some suspenseful scenes here which are great and really set the mood for whats going to happen next. Especially one scene where a dog goes missing (I won't spoil it). Oh and if you take a look at the cover, you can see Damon making out with a girl so of course you can expect a romantic scene in the movie. But its all good, because there's more action than that mushy stuff. The Disc: Nothing wrong with quality one bit. If you got Dolby 5.1 hooked up, then the experience is awesome. You get the full effect, with gunshots and punches heard in amazing sound. Even if you don't have Dolby, its still good. Picture is crisp and you get the choice of Widescreen or Full Screen with your purchase, so its up to you whichever format you like the most. The disc itself is alright, nothing too fancy. Just a blurred image with "Bourne Identity" written on it. Nothing special. The Features: Features are top notch. Probably one of the best new additions to this edition are the Bookend scenes. Those are the never before seen beginning and alternate ending. Its really interesting why they never included them since if they did, it would give a whole new perspective to the movie. Also, the alternate ending leaves the door open for a sequel (even though there was already one planned anyway). You also your usual commentary on here. Plus some cool featurettes like how they did the fight scenes, a little back story on the author of the Bourne Trilogy books. They give you a walkthrough on how they went from filming Identity to Supremacy. Its all informative stuff and should keep you interested. Overall: Bourne Identity is definitely worth a pickup. If you're a fan of thrillers or spy movies then this one has your interest in the bag. If you're tired of the Bond films and want something different then BI can cure your fix. Its better than xXx, I say. The acting is superb and the movie is overall an enjoyment. If you're curious about it, then at least rent it. If thats not enough, well if you buy this then you get a free ticket to Bourne Supremacy. Interested now? Hehe.

Hellboy -Released July 27th, 2004 -Ron Perlman, Selma Blair -Written by Kev 08/01/04 -SCORE: 8/10 - Gold Award
The Movie: One of the best superhero movies of the year. Hellboy isn't lets say...a Spider-Man 2, but it holds its own and has its own experience. The movie revolves around Hellboy who was brought to Earth by some evil villain after an experiment gone wrong at the beginning of the movie. Professor Broom finds him and takes him in as his own, where evetually he becomes his father. Fast forward to the future, and you got a grown up Hellboy who fights evil with Abe Sapien (a fish man) and a girl who can make and control fire, Liz Sherman (Selma Blair). Hellboy himself is the best thing about the movie. He is one of the funniest and collest heroes ever. He's a serious guy but never hesitates to make a joke. Its funny when he says "Oh, Crap" all over the movie whenever he's in trouble. He's just a liad backk guy that you can't help but like. The acting here is good, its nothing special but the action is where its at. Selma Blair is probably the worst actor in the movie. She seems so dull and boring in the movie. There's not that many action scenes here because they have to build up the characters so you actually get to know them. Since this story revolves around the Nazi's, there is alot of stuff about how some of the characters were involved with the Nazi's and stuff like that. Pick this up, its worth a watch. The Disc: Perfect. Yeah, we usually always say that here but its true. Most DVDs have perfect sound and picture, and this one is no different. Its all high definition so you won't be disappointed. The booklet is packed. It gives a brief description about every single special feature which is a nice touch. Good job Columbia. The disc's are nothing special. They're just the Hellboy symbol (the hand and sword) covering the whole discs. Its simple but cool. The Features: Hellboy is loaded. They got alot of things to keep you occupied. Commentary is here like always, a DVD without commentary is like Jay without the Son...or something like that. You got a new feature in DVDs called DVD Comics. They are hand drawn by Mike Nignola, the guy who created Hellboy. its basically comic books that move. Pretty cool. There are set visits, promotional stuff, trailers, storyboards, deleted scenes, plus you have easter egss roaming around. I've found a couple roaming around the screens, so have fun with that. Overall: In the end, Hellboy is a great DVD to add to your collection. Its got action, comedy, emotional scenes, and of course, a kickass hero. You'll probably spend most of your time focusing on Hellboy the first time you watch it because he's just fun to look at it. There you go, Hellboy is a definite pickup. Rent it if you have doubts, I know I did. I didn't think Hellboy was going to be all that great when it came to theaters. It looked cheesy. But I was pleasantly surprised, and so will you.
