Prologue

Over the many long years, and thoughout many hardships, I have endeavored to make a most precise account of the dragon as can be made. I have had the pleasure of calling some dragons friend, and the displeasure of being nothing more then a plaything to others. Here within I shall strive to recount all my knowledge of the ancient and once noble races. Dragons are, like the Elves and Dwarves, one of the Immortal races, graced to have once stood alongside the Gods. But like so many during the First God wars, they too fell prey to Malikar's treachery, and many were swayed to his side and thier evilness has tainted many generations. On top of this also lies a deep and bitter resentment of what many dragons consider the lesser races, namely man. But not all have this resentment, and some have even taken a liking to man, helping and teaching them.

I also plan to put to rest the color issue. For though many of my fellow scholars cling to the belief that the different colors seen in dragons somehow denotes different species, they couldn't be further from the truth. Also supposited against my collegues is the idea that the different breath weapons amongst dragons is as varied as the color of our eyes. Moreso, I also have first-hand knowledge of the origin of and ways to combat the many mock dragons, such as Wyrms and the so-called Lesser Dragons. These foul creations of Kord should be purged from the land without our mercy. Remember to always to tread softly and take great care, for you never know what dragon you might be dealing with.
