A pair of twin babies are being delivered to their parents by the stork. After not too long of setting off, a mysterious figure (Kamek) swoops by and kidnaps the green-hatted baby! The baby in the red hat falls down, and lands on Yoshi. Yoshi and his friends, of many colours, have agreed to journey through their homeland of Yoshi's Island to get the other twin, and return the babies to their parents.
... I'd hate to see what Kamek would do if babies were born the natural way... UGH!!! BAD IMAGE!!!
Graphics - 10/10
Amazing. Best SNES graphics ever! Not only are they clear and beautiful, it introduces a new type of graphics. In some parts of the game, we see Yoshi and other things transform smoothly into other objects. SMW2 introduces this new technology, which adds on to the great graphics.
Music - 10/10
I absolutely LOVE the music in this game. Pretty much ever song is fun to listen to! My favourite song is the cavern theme. Other great songs, are Middle Castle bosses, any of the overworlds and Kamek's theme.
Humor - 8/10
This game has some funny moments. Weither it's Yoshi crying from lava, or Kamak talking like he's stoned, you'll have a great time laughing. But they've saved the best for last! When you meet Baby Bowser, he says the cutest and funniest things. My personal favourite, is when he sees Yoshi and says, "What's that gween donkey thing? I wanna ride!" Pure comedy!
Items - 5/10
The items aren't that great, except the stars which supply heath. Other than that, there are :Watermelon, Fire Watermelon, Ice Watermelon, POW Block and Super Star. The Watermelon lets you shoot seeds from your mouth. The Fire Watermelon let's you shoot fire streams from your mouth. The Ice Watermelon let's you shoot ice streams from your mouth. The POW block destroys all enemies on the screen. The Super Star let's you take control of Baby Mario and for a small amount of time, be invincible and able to float. The normal stars are your health. When you get hit, Baby Mario is trapped in a floating bubble and your star count goes down. If you don't get him back before it hits zero, you lose a life. You can have a maximum of 30 stars, and if you go below 10, it'll come back up until it's back at 10.
Characters - 6/10
The Yoshis, Kamek and Baby Bowser. The yare the only real characters, other than the Stork and Baby Luigi. Kamek always tries to stop you in a castle by increasing the size of an enemy. Baby Bowser is the final boss. He will try to stop you growing really big. Unfortunately, you never really fight Kamek, but he actaully has a bigger role than Baby Bowser.
Fun Factor - 10/10
I love this game alot. It's difficult, long, addictive and very fun. Once you reach World 6 Level 8, you'll be crying because it's over. But, there's also secrets to discover. Each World has two secret levels. And I'm not telling you how to get them. Nyeh. That's part of the fun, to find it out! Anyway, you'll enjoy this game alot, and if you have an SNES, you better have this game.
