~Tash in Tori's shoes, March 11, 2003, Toledo, Ohio~

+ Tash has been on tour with Tori on both the 2001 StrangeLittleTour, the 2002-2003 On Scarlet's Walk Tour, the 2003 Lottapianos Summer Tour with Ben Folds, and the 2005 tours supporting The Beekeeper. She has been well protected from the masses, though Tori has told numerous little stories between songs regarding things Tash has said or done, much to the delight of the fans. She sounds like an extremely intuitive, sharp, and quick-thinking little girl, according to stories from Tori and her crew.

+ Ribbons Undone is about her.

+ Tash appeared on stage with Tori in Cleveland, Ohio on August 30, 2005 dressed as Queen Amidala for her celebratory Star Wars birthday show (she turned 5 on September 5th).

+ Tash can be seen in the Welcome To Sunny Florida DVD bonus footage, and in the American Doll Posse Limited Edition's dvd.

Upon feeding her daughter for the first time, Tori noted that "an ounce of breast milk is even more potent than the finest tequila."

It's the news everyone in Tori-dom waited for: Tori is a MOM!! She and Mark welcomed Natashya Lorien into the world on September 5th, 2000, and she was a healthy 7.1 ounce baby girl, 21 inches at birth.

The following images showing Tash and Mark are stills from the dvd accompanying the special edition of American Doll Posse*:

*I would like it noted that these shots are from the official release, and are not paparazzi photos. I would never post images of Tori's daughter that were not already released by Tori and Mark themselves.

+ On Choosing the Name:

ArtistDirect sent out a newsletter to fellow Ears with Feet that describes where Tori and Mark got the name "Lorien". Here's what it says:

When Tori was pregnant, she would read to the baby. Among her choices was Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings.' The book made a strong impression on Tori (and the baby, as you'll see!). From 'Lord of the Rings,' Book 2, Chapter 6:

"'There lie the woods of Lothlorien!,' said Legolas. 'That is the fairest of all the dwellings of my people. There are no trees like the trees of that land. For in the autumn their leaves fall not, but turn to gold. Not till the spring comes and the new green opens do they fall, and then the boughs are laden with yellow flowers; and the floor of the wood is golden, and golden is the roof, and its pillars are of silver, for the bark of the trees is smooth and grey."

In choosing the middle name for the baby, Tori and her husband Mark decided on "Lorien," short for "Lothlorien" which as you'll see from the above quote, is "the fairest" of woods and always alive with color.

Tori on the album "Strange Little Girls," which was released on 9/18/01:
"The thing about nursing [her daughter Natashya] is, you do have enforced thinking time for hours and hours and hours a day. That's when I formulated the whole thing. In those hours I started to decide what I was going to do, and it did kind of surprise me what my choice was."
--Rolling Stone, 4/17/01

"Having a daughter has made me put my ear to the ground and hear what people are saying. This project [Strange Little Girls] is in response to what I'm hearing."

*In the baby's name, there is an accent over the "o" in Lorien. I unfortunately do not have accents on my keyboard, but the correct spelling is with the accent.
