St. Colombus - 14th December 2001 Kra$$: Lets be honest, I was expectin some depressing indie SHITE! The guys where great off stage, and I quickly descovered they where on stage as well. They opened with Bartender and the Thief which got me moshing, and a pit started. JJ72's snow was amazing, the crowd came up to the front and the crowd got into it. I was the proud owner of the first stage dive. Greenday's Minorty and Blink 182's First Date, good punk songs which got everyone mad. Vocals where notch on, as where guitars. Drummer Jamie looks a bit nervous behind his kit but more practise will help him grow in confidence, after all he drummed great. The set slowed down with Wonderwall, but everything just went mad again with the closing song, My Own Summer by Deftones, which rocked so much. The goal posts in front of the stage where trashed and the crowd where bouncing around the front. More crowd interation needed, and pure madness really. Husseys Bar - 21st December 2001 Kra$$: well to be fair, this was a shambles of a gig for everyone. i was expecting 10 times as many people in the door and this dented the confidence of Kra$$, who were set to play first. they opened with Bartender and The thief, i didn't like sigi's vocals on this one, a bit waily. As we went to look in the streets for people, the played Burn Baby Burn. As the set went on they took it more casually and as sigi said ''this is a good practice'' eventually people started bounching around the stage to 'minority' 'snow' and the classic 'my own summer'. sound quality wasn't as good but still, they played pretty damn good under the circumstances. lets see those guitarist move around more! jamie is improving on the drums too...in the space of a week Reveiwer - Kiel Cathers (Ceramic HeLLmets) 7 outta 10 |
6th Form Concert When first asked to write a review of Kra$$'s performance at the sixth form conert I was flattered.....The i relised that they where taking the piss. Pre-gig: I was watching Kra$$ rehearse and it was really good. On 'Local Boy In The Photograph' by 'Stereophonics' Sigi was on top form hitting ever note with force that could blow you away. It was instrumentallly perfect as far as I could tell and I'm sure it was the sam for most of the others that where there. At the actual concert Kra$$ opened with ''First Date' by 'Blink-182'. It was pretty good but was their weakest song of the set. Smidy hit a wrong chord in the middle but even the best make mistakes. It was to be the only noticable one of the set. Then came 'Bartender and the Thief'. These guys are big Phonics fans. Sigi in his punk/indie frontman role accidentally kicked out his mic lead, but with them not taped down this was hard to avoid. Besdies, Sigi's on stage antics made up 4 it. Again a super song played flawlessly. The curtains close. Everything is quiet. The suspence mounts. Are they done? Then hysterical laughter from back stage and the drums kick in tells us that somethings up. The curtains open. There is the band in their.......UNDERWEAR?!? It would have been more suited for 'First Date' but what the hell. Sigi's Y-fronts were particularly funny followed by Billy's smiley faces. Masty was acting the maggot and jumping on his amp. Billy tried to get on a table, but when it started wobbling he thought better if it and just stood. To be honest with you I was laughing too hard to pay much attention to the song but I'm sure it was good. For a band that have only been together for only a short time they click very well. Lagan has come on especially well. Overall it was a great concert and unfortunatly they will be unable yo play next year due to the old fashioned conformist bastards that control our skool. Ah well. It's there loss! Reviewer - Chris 'Critic' Heaney 10 outta 10 |

Rugby Club - 9th November 2001 At the start we had a selection of Metal on CD, selected by our sound-men, Enda and Resurrection's lead guitarist, being pumped around the room, setting the atmosphere. Then at half past, Kra$$ stepped on stage. After some technical hitches were sorted out (or near enough), they began to play. Sigi was the image of Liam Gallagher, hands behind his back, bottle of water on stage, and going at every song full pelt. After recieving some stupid heckles from certain people, he showed how determined he was by simply replying, ''Wel, you get up here, and we'll see if you can do any better.'' The whole way through their set, a huge mosh pit had been building up, which I really didn't expect, because this is Omgh, and no-one was drunk. They finished their set with an excellent rendition of ''My Own Summer'' by the Deftones, which really got the pitt going!
