Dim sunlight whispers about the boughs
Curls softly through the branches
Breaking through the interstices
Light reaches out to grab me
Shines down to me as I sit
Upon a stump I think, and pray
It comes down to me
The light shoots down, rebounding brightly
Off the sparkling ripples of a forest stream
It flows by limpid and lively
Over smooth black stones
Light bounces off the water
Interminable projectiles launched at me
Burrow into pores of my skin like rabbits
Piercing as arrows, overwhelming
I cup the cool water in my hands and
Liberally splash it onto my assaulted yet sleepy face
Awaken O my soul, the fountain runs deep
A light from Zion, the morning star rises
Droplets of water slide off the surface of my face
Eyes open wider than they could just moments ago
The world has changed or is it just me
