Questionnaire Design

Questionnaires are an inexpensive way to gather data from a potentially large number of respondents.

The steps required to design and administer a questionnaire include:

1.      Defining the Objectives of the survey

2.      Determining the Sampling Group

3.      Writing the Questionnaire

4.      Administering the Questionnaire

5.      Interpretation of the Results

    When to use a questionnaire?

  1. When resources and money are limited.

  2. When it is necessary to protect the privacy of the participants.

  3. When corroborating other findings.

There are several points that must be considered when writing and interpreting questionnaires:

1.      Clarity

2.      Leading Questions

3.      Phrasing

4.      Embarrassing Questions

5.      Hypothetical Questions

6.      Prestige Bias
