Leonhard Euler 1707-1783

Leonhard Euler was a Swiss mathematician who made enormous contributions to a wide range of mathematics and physics including analytic geometry, trigonometry, geometry, calculus and number theory.

Math Delights

I am a programmer with a strong interest in mathematics. Over the years I've worked with lots of smart people who professed a dislike for math. Somehow, during their school days, they were never inspired or delighted by their math courses. On the contrary, they have been quite turned off by school math.

I like to show them a few math facts that delight me. Maybe pose and work through some interesting problems that are counter intuitive. My objective is to pass some time pleasantly for both of us.

On this web site I intend to record the math facts and problems that have some flavor of surprise or some seemingly remarkable property. None of these problems should be beyond the grasp of most readers.
