Project Instructions.

SECTION I) Selecting the destination point:

Step 1: 	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 2:	While on the new window, click  ______  (thetravelsite.com) to select the country you want to visit. 

Step 3:	Select the country and fill in the data sheet (step 3) with the proper information you can get from this site. 

Step 4: 	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.

SECTION II) Gathering pertinent information about the destination point.

Step 5:	 Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.
 
Step 6:	Click on ___________________  (travel.yahoo.com).

Step 7:	Stroll down to "Plan Your Trip" and type in your chosen destination (the name of the country).Then, click on search.

Step 8:	Stroll down to "Health Information" and click on "More Heath Information" in order to fill in the data sheet (step 8) with the proper information.

Step 9:	Click on "Back" on the top left corner of the page. 

Step 10:	Stroll down to "Destination Profile" and click on "Facts at a Glance" in order continue gathering information and fill in the data sheet (step 10) with the proper information.
Step 11:	Click on "Back" on the top left corner of the page. 

Step 12:	Stroll down to "Destination Profile", go through all the different topics that are listed and write a summary on the data sheet (step 12). Remember to click on "Back" every time you are finished with a topic and want to read another one.
	
Step 13: 	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.


SECTION III) Gathering pertinent information about the destination point.
Step 14:	 Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.


Step 15:	Click on ___________________  (cnn.com).

Step 16:	In the "SEARCH" window, type in your destination point.

Step 17:	Click on "Go" in order to continue gathering information and answer the question "step 17" on your data sheet.

Step 18:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.

SECTION IV: Traveling information.

Step 19:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 20: 	Click on ___________________  (travel.yahoo.com).

Step 21:	Enter your point of origin, your destination point,  the number of people who would be traveling, and the amount of stops that is acceptable to you

Step 22:	Click "Search" in order to continue gathering information and fill in the data sheet (step 22)

Step 23: 	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.





Step 24:	 Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 25:	Click on ___________________  (indo.com/distance) to continue.

Step 26:	Stroll down to enter your point of origin and your destination point.

Step 27:	Click on "Look it up!" in order to continue gathering information and fill in the data sheet (step 27)

Step 28:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened


SECTION IV: Other traveling information (tracking a flight).
Step 29:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 30:	Click on ___________________  (expedia.com) to continue.

Step 31:	Select an intercontinental flight from Miami, Florida to Los Angeles, California (LAX-Los Angeles Intl.), so that by the same time (same as the time you are doing this exercise) next week, the flight will have been the air for one or two hours. Record the flight number.

Step 32:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.

Step 33:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 34:	Click on ___________________  (trip.com) to continue.

Step 35:	Enter the name of the airline, the flight number, and make sure that "Graphical Version" is selected.

Step 36: 	Click on "TRACK THE FLIGHT" and record the actual speed of the flight. Notice the  altitude and the heading of that air plane.

Step 37:	Record, on your data sheet (step 37), that same speed on as the speed that the airplane which will take you on your vacation will also travel. Then, compute your travel time and record it on your data sheet.


Step 38:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.

SECTION V: Finding Time and Date differences (Time Zones).
Step 39:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 40:	Click on ___________________  (maps.com) to continue.

Step 41:	Analyze the world map you see in front of you. Locate Miami, Florida and Santiago Chile. Record the answers to the following questions on the data sheet (step 41).
1-	Is your point of origin and your destination point in the same time zone?

2-	What time is the actual time and date right now at your point of origin?

3-	What time and date you expect it to be at your destination point?

4-	To confirm your answer:
a) 	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.

b)	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

c)	Click on ___________________  (worldtimesserver.com) to continue.

d)	In the "Search this List" window, type in your country of destination and press "enter". Then click on the name of the city you are interested in. (Note: if the name of the city does not appear, it means that your country of destination only has 1 time zone)
e)	Compare the time and date you found in Step 41 - 4 d) with your answer in Step 41 - 3 and, with your teacher’s help, explain any discrepancies.


Step 42:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.



SECTION VI: Finding Currency Exchange Rates &  projections.

Step 43:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 44:	Click on ___________________  (finance.yahoo.com) to continue.

Step 45:	In the third window from left to right, select the currency used in your destination point. Then click on "Convert". Record the exchange rate on your data sheet (step 45)

Step 46:	In the "Historical Charts" section of the table that is on that page, click on "3m", and print the page by first clicking on "File" (top left corner of the page) then on "Print".

Step 47:	In the "Historical Charts" section of the table that is on that page, click on "1 y", and print the page.

Step 48:	In the "Historical Charts" section of the table that is on that page, click on "2 y", and print the page by first clicking on "File" (top left corner of the page) then on "Print".

Step 49:	Use the three line graphs you just printed to analyze the exchange rate trends.

Step 50:	Reproduce "3m" on a graph paper by creating space so that it continues till the time you will be on vacations.

Step 51:	Make some projections concerning the exchange rate for the time of your  vacations and continue the line graph accordingly.

Step 52:	Answer the questions on your data sheet (step 52)

Step 53: 	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the project window is opened.
 
SECTION VII: Estimating in country expenses.
a) Hotel expenses.
Step 54:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window.

Step 55:	Click on ___________________  (the travelsite.com) to continue.

Step 56:	Click File, then New, then Window in order to create another internet window again.
Step 57:	Click, one more time on the country you had selected.

Step 58:	Stroll all the way down the page and click on "Chile Hotels".

Step 59:	Select a hotel and record the name of the hotel, its address and the price on your data sheet (step 59). Also compute the total cost for your stay in the designated space on your data sheet.

Step 60:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the travel site window is opened.

b) Car Rental expenses.
Step 61:	Stroll all the way down the page and click on "Car Rental".

Step 62:	Select a Car Rental Company, record its name, its address and the price on your data sheet (step 62). Also compute the total cost for your stay in the designated space on your data sheet.

Step 63:	Close the window you were working with and make sure that the travel site window is opened.

b) Food expenses.
Step 64: 	Click on "Eating Out" then on "Dinning Essays".

Step 65: 	Read through  two or three restaurant profiles and make an estimate of the cost of a meal. 

Step 66:	Record the estimate cost per meal and compute your food expenses. Record all your findings on the data sheet (Step 66)

Step 67:	At the end of your investigation for meal costs, click on "HOME"

c) Entertainment/Tour expenses.
Step 68:	Now, click on "Night Life", "Performing Arts" and "Outdoor Recreations" one after the other in order to find out an average entertainment cost for the duration of your stay.

Step 69: 	Record and compute an estimate entertainment expenses. Record all your findings on the data sheet (Step 69)
