Physical Environment
    When creating a classroom atmosphere based on collaborative learning, conceptual understanding, and group problem solving skills, it is extremely important to look at the physical environment or arrangement of the classroom.  Additionally, in order to create a classroom where students are able to "self-manage" the classroom must be arranged to promote democracy, mutual respect, and dialogue (Kohn 60).  Thus, student-to-student dialogue must be encouraged and made a "norm" in the classroom.  There are many different apsects of the physical environment that will have an effect on these things which determine the learning atmosphere as well as the classroom management system, including:
