Her first cover identity was that of Coruscant student Kirney Slane. At the time of Isard's supposed death at Thyferra, she was on the NR frigate Mother Sea as an undercover agent, posing as Rebel mission controller Chyan Mezzine. Cut off from the Empire, she managed to get in touch with Admiral Trigit of Warlord Zsinj's fleet and worked for him, providing him with the data he needed to destroy Talon Squadron.
Using her real name, she worked as a data analyst on Trigit's Implacable; she had the rank of lieutenant.
When Trigit attempted to destroy the Implacable with all crew onboard, she left his services, telling the New Republic forces where they could find (and kill) Trigit. She disguised herself as Trigit's unwilling concubine, Lara Notsil, and was rescued by the NR.
Subsequent events brought her into Wraith Squadron; but part of her still longed to serve the Empire, and she wanted to use her position to gather information for Warlord Zsinj. However, over time, her loyalties changed. She started to like the Wraiths (and Myn Donos in particular), and wanted to join the NR for real.
The following part of the text contains spoilers for Iron Fist and Solo Command - highlight to read: But her past caught up with her. She was contacted by Zsinj, who used the real Lara's brother for that purpose. Killing her contact, Lara/Gara managed to get out of the situation, but things didn't become less complicated for her. When Face found out about her true identity and Myn tried to kill her, she had to flee. Calling herself Kirney Slane once again, she offered her services to Zsinj; but secretly remained loyal to the New Republic. She helped Han Solo's task force to beat Warlord Zsinj, freed some aliens that had been abused by Zsinj, and saved Wedge's and Tycho's lives. Wedge believed that she had died during that fight; but a few days later, she sent a message to Myn, telling him that if he wanted to see her, she could be found on Corellia, where she had started a shuttle business. It is not known what became of her after that.
