- Laran gift and laran training: no training - never experienced threshold sickness, and has never had any real laran incidents. Her mother was tower-trained for a little while, but left to marry her father when her talents were not deemed to be as strong as a marriage with Syrtis would be for her family. Ysabet sometimes has moments where she will just *know* something has happened elsewhere, usually to family or very close friends, but these are rare.
- Politics: Why talk about politics when it's so boring? Leave that to the politicians. She does pay attention to trade issues, due to the new wines that her father's estate is starting to produce. He figured out how to extract and ferment an enzyme from the famous Syrtis roses, and has produced some very tasty local wines in the last few years.
- Personality: Coy, intelligent young lady who is always up for fun and entertainment. Is well-educated, but prefers riding and hunting to needlework or reading. She is her father's only heir, so is fully prepared to take over the running of their estate one day. Can be charming beyond measure, but also equally unpleasant if crossed. Loves a good laugh, even if it comes at someone else's expense.
- Strengths: Extremely capable and independent, observant, and tough. Also very gracious when necessary.
