Ciara stepped out of Jeff's Corvette at the entrance
to the house that they rented and looked about. She had never been
to a place like Myrtle Beach before, and she was in awe of the fact that
the weather was still warm enough to go swimming and that the beaches were
a beautiful white. She looked at Jeff, who was emptying the trunk
of his and Ciara's luggage. Jeff smiled at her and motioned for her
to come over. Ciara did, and he put one arm around her while the
other held onto the pulling handle of the wheeled suitcase.
"Ciara, why don't you watch the bags, while I make
sure that everything is in order, okay?" Jeff said as he kissed her on
the cheek.
Jeff walked up the stairs and proceeded to put out
the two wine glasses he had set for later that evening, after he had proposed.
He made sure that the curtains were open to the beautiful view, and that
the bed was comfy. Not to mention, he had to see if the CD player was stocked
with the CDs he had brought with him.
"Perfect." Jeff said to himself. "This is
going to be a great weekend."
Jeff walked back downstairs to Ciara, and told her
to go check out the bedroom that they would be sharing.
"Ciara, if you think the view we got when we came
in was gorgeous, you should see the view from the upstairs bedroom." Jeff
said, taking the suitcases, as Ciara went upstairs to the only opened bedroom
door. The bedroom had the look of a bridal suite. The bedsheets
were white, and there were dried flowers on the wall. There was a
conveniently placed CD player on a nearby table, as well as a set of two
crystal wine glasses sitting on the dresser.
Ciara walked out onto the patio, and just
enjoyed the view. Jeff came in the room, saw her walk out, and he
followed behind her.
"Jeff, when are Amy, Matt and the rest of them coming?"
Ciara asked.
"Matt's on his way. He had to stop and pick
up Amy and Shane. But this just means that we have time to ourselves."
Jeff said with a sly grin on his face.
Ciara felt Jeff put his arms around her and
start kissing her neck. She sighed, and just enjoyed the moment.
"Okay, Captain Hormone, calm down." Ciara
said, as things started to get a bit steamy.
"Do I have to?" Jeff asked, putting his arms
around her and just holding her close.
"Yes, Jeffrey. Besides, I hear knocking
on the downstairs door." Ciara said to her lover.
"Must be Matt and the others.
I don't know why Matt would be knocking. He's got a key." Jeff said
to her.
"Maybe it's not Matt. Could be
Shannon or perhaps Christian York?" Ciara said to him.
"I'll go downstairs and check,
dear. You just stay up here, and enjoy the view." he said, kissing
her cheek. Jeff made his way downstairs and opened the door.
Sure enough, there was his brother, hands full with his and Amy's luggage.
"I thought I gave you a key, Matt?"
Jeff asked him.
"You did, but my hands are full."
Matt said, walking into the hallway. "So, does she suspect anything?"
he asked Jeff.
"I don't think she does.
Do you wanna see the ring that I got her?" Jeff asked his brother
"Sure." Matt said, as Jeff
got the ring out of his bag. The ring was platinum, with ten tiny
diamonds surrounding the central diamond.
"Wow, that's gorgeous, man.
Does her family know about this?" Matt asked Jeff.
"I talked to her older
brother last night and told him that the family is all invited down here
for the night, just for the proposal, and to meet me, and the family." Jeff
said.
"She's met Dad
and the rest of the Hardy clan. Have you met her parents yet?" Matt
asked
"Nope, not yet."
Jeff said. "the only one in her family I know is her brother, Colin, because
I talked to him the other night on Messenger while Ciara was in the bathroom."
"Are they
coming down?" Matt asked
"I guess.
Colin called me and told me that they were coming down here tonight." Jeff
replied.
Just then, there was a knock on the open door.
"Come in." Jeff said.
"Jeff Hardy?" a man asked.
"Yes, that would be me. And I don't think I have had the pleasure
of meeting you, sir." Jeff said, sticking out a hand.
"Oh, yes, well, forgive my rudeness. I am Ciara's brother, Colin."
Colin said, taking Jeff's hand.
"Ah, yes. Pleasure to meet you." Jeff said, shaking Colin's
hand.
"Indeed. Mom needs to know where to park the car." Colin said.
"Oh, she can park it where my Corvette is." Jeff replied.
While Jeff and Colin were talking, Ciara came downstairs. She saw
her brother and her boyfriend talking about something. She had no
idea what. And she was wondering why her brother was hanging out
with a guy he didn't even know.
"Colin?" Ciara asked.
"Hey sis!" Colin said, walking over to her and giving her a hug.
"What brings you to South Carolina?" Ciara asked.
"Jeff invited us to come down, as sort of a meet and greet thing.
He just wanted to meet us." Colin said to his stymied sister.
"Us? Who else is here?" Ciara asked her brother.
"Oh, just Mom, Dad, Ashley, Mary, Grandpa and Grandma, and the nieces and
nephews. All seven of them." Colin replied.
"Really? And how is Jeff going to fit everyone in this guesthouse?"
Ciara said, looking at Jeff.
"Ciara, Dad rented a bigger beach house just down the road." Colin said.
"Oh. Okay. Well, why don't you guys go to the house, and meet
us here for dinner about six. We'll have lasagna." Jeff said to Colin.
"Will do. see you guys later." Colin said, as he walked toward the
car.
"Tell
me something, Jeffrey." Ciara said to Jeff after her brother left.
"Sure, hon. What do you want to know?" Jeff said.
"Just who is going to make the lasagna?" Ciara asked.
"It's going to be catered. I placed the order before we left Cameron."
Jeff replied. "In the meantime, let's get our swim gear on and go
for a swim."
"Sounds like a good idea." Ciara said as she chased Jeff up the stairs.
