When Dreams Come True
by Carly Grey

Chapter 1

Here she was, 19 years old and about to attend an interview that could
change in her life. Dressed in a black and white striped mini skirt with a
white halter top, Ashley entered the room after hearing someone call her in.

In front of her stood Mr. McMahon, the owner of the WWF. Her freshly colored
hair fell onto her shoulders as she leant forward slightly to shake his
hand. Ashley had lovely hair, straight and a deep red. It had been jet black
before, but when she had caught a deep tan, it looked weird to her so she
had it dyed. Sitting down on the cushioned chair, she crossed her long, thin
legs.

"So Ashley, tell me about yourself and experiences with wrestling," Vince
commanded but with friendliness in his voice.

"Well, I’ve been watching WWF for eight years now. It was four years ago
that I found someone to train me but because I was till only fifteen, I
couldn’t enroll in a school. However, when I finally turned eighteen, I
registered in my local school," she explained.
He nodded his head then quickly explained that he would plan a practice match to see how she was and he’d decide from there. She thanked him then exited the room, sighing with relief as soon as she closed the door.

Ashley straightened her skirt then turned and walked to a vending machine for a drink. When she got a bottle of water, she decided to go outside for some fresh air. The WWF was in Toronto for Raw and it was a Sunday. The streets were busy with shoppers purchasing clothes for their holiday.

Ashley sat on the edge of the grass, legs bent in front of her and her cheek
resting on her knee. The cloudless sky gave her perfect access to the sun’s
heat. She pulled out a photo of her boyfriend, Shawn, from her bag and
sighed when his appearance stared back at her.

The picture was taken at their High School graduation. After four years of having a crush on him, they’d finally got together at the party afterwards. It had worked out
perfect for them as they attended the same college. She was still at college
but it was her last year.

Ashley thought back to the time when he’d first said he loved her, two months after they had started dating. It was a romantic night but it followed to tears afterwards when she fell pregnant. She took a sip of her drink but soon managed to tip some down her top.

"You’re supposed to drink it, not wear it," a voice said from behind
her.

Ashley spun around only to gaze into the deep, green eyes of Jeff Hardy. She
introduced herself then sat back down. He laid down next to her, staring up
at the sky. "So what’s wrong? You seem fed up or something," he asked,
looking concerned. "I’m Jeff Hardy by the way."

"Yeah I know. I’ve loved you and Matt since you started in the WWF. And I’m
just thinking about my boyfriend and how to break up with him. It’s not
working anymore."

"I’m sorry. You know, now that I think about it, Chris mentioned you earlier
and he was right when he said you were gorgeous. You’re the new person,
right?"

Ashley blushed deeply and nodded her head slightly. It was true what
she said; she had loved Matt and Jeff. They were both gorgeous to her and
they seemed like amazing people and their best friend, Amy who played Lita
on TV was cool as well.
They chatted for a while and within an hour, they were laughing and joking like they’d known each other for ages. She told him about her family life, how she was still in college but was finishing soon and how her baby had died at just two months old because of heart complications.

He looked on, saddened, but she changed the subject so that
Jeff was exchanging his old stories to her. They talked for another hour
when he had to go when Matt started calling for him. They said their
good-byes before he went inside the arena. Ashley got up herself and
walked back to her apartment. Toronto was her hometown, so it was easy for her to
get to the arena.

Finally getting there, she got ready for college the next day. She pulled
out her outfit then went in the shower. Jeff had managed to put a smile on
her face and she couldn’t stop thinking about him. It was already nine
o’clock so she got on with an essay.  By the time it was done, it was ten
thirty so she went to bed, thoughts of Jeff and her possible new job on her
mind.  Her heart ached of loneliness when she thought of Shawn but it filled
with love when she thought of Jeff. She would hopefully get the job so she
could spend more time with him.
