Rubens finished this painting in 1612, not long after he created The Raising of the Cross. In this painting, Christ's glow seems to contrast with the dark colors Rubens used.  Christ's glow is supposed to be astounding the soldiers in the\is work. This painting is now located in O.L. Vrouwekathedraal, Antwerp.
