Engine Co. 1 is a 1987 Pierce Arrow and carries 1,000gal. of water and 25gal. of foam. It has a 1250gal. per minute pump. Engine 1 is the largest of all the engines in Mattapoisett. Engine 1 also carries the largest ladder in town which is a 35 feet and responds first to any chimney fires in town. Engine 1 can seat 5 firefighters ( 1 officer, 1 driver, 3 firefighters ).
