Engine Co. 4 is a 1996 Pierce / International with 750gal. tank and 1250gal. per minute pump. Engine 4 is the "Special Hazards" unit for the town, and also carries a variety of extrication tools for anything we encounter. Engine 4 serves as the RIT ( rapid intervention team ) unit also. The RIT team is a specialy trained group of firefighters who are trained to rescue downed firefighters. Eight members of the Mattapoisett Fire Dept. went through the training with members of local departments. Engine 4 has a seating capicity for 5 firefighters. |
