Rescue 1 has been taken out of service due to unsafe conditions

** A new rescue truck has been ordered by the town of Mattapoisett to replace the out of service 1987 Ford rescue truck. A new 2006 Pierce Custom Contender rescue truck on a Ford F-550 chassis has been ordered and should be arriving in december **

Rescue 1 is a 1987 Ford, which use to be the old Mattapoisett Police Ambulance. The Rescue Associaiton purchased the rig and converted it over to a rescue unit. Rescue 1 is second run to motor vehicle accidents and carries a variety or rescue tools for trench rescue, water rescue, confined space rescue and many other circumstances we may face. The unit also serves as a rehab for large fires or incidents and carries medical equipment, 2 Scott airpacks and many spare airpack bottles. Rescue 1 carries traffic control equipment also. Rescue 1 has a seating capicity for 2 firefighters.
