Sevilla
Sevilla Pictures
Sevilla was so hot that it hurts to even think of it.

I arrived with the australian guys at 10:30ish in the morning and it was already 40 degrees (What is that in Farenheit, *1/8 *32, so basically 100 degrees.  We checked into our hotel (no a.c.) and decided to see as many sights as we could.

I canīt really remember anything, since I was literally in a daze walking around in the heat.  The strange thing about Spain is that it gets hotter as the day goes on, even after midday.  It doesnīt peak at noon, but seems to creep up in temperature until about 6.  I think 4-5 is probably the hottest time in Spain.

I drank 2 1.5 liter bottles of water that afternoon and still didnīt have to go to the bathroom since I was sweating so much.

The only monument that we saw that I remember is the Sevilla Cathedral (which is good, since this is the major monument in Sevilla).  Itīs one of the biggest cathedrals in the world.  Alledgedly when it was rebuilt (previously was muslim), church authorities said that they wanted to "create a building such that future generations will take us for lunatics.Ļ Gotta like that.

The church was definitely the biggest Iīve ever seen.  It had great views of Sevilla from the tower and notably has the tomb of Christopher Columbus, so that was pretty cool to see.

Like I said, I really forgot what else I saw that day.  It was so miserable.  The temperature creeped up throughout the day until it peaked out at I think 48 degrees (120ish F).

After that day, I told the guys I wasnīt staying another day and was leaving the next morning.  They all wanted to stay another day and see some more sights.  I just could not handle the heat.

Sad to leave such good travelling companions, but giddy to leave the horrid weather.

Off to Granada.
