Strange Days - Matthew Good Band

Tabbed by Adam Bishop

I found this tabbed by Aaron "cheesypoof69" (low-down@rogers.com), on the Oh Canada
Archive, but it wasn't totally right and he just made up chord names, which was very very
very confusing. Then I forgot about the song for awhile, saw the video (which is very sad,
I think), figured it out on my own, then matched the two versions together, so I hope it's
right. What I called the Amaj7/9 may actually be an E, but I (and Aaron, apparently)
hear it with an A bass note.

     A Amaj7/9
Good morning, don't cop out
    G D
You crawled from the cancer to land on your feet
        A Amaj7/9
Are you crazy to want this
G D
Even for a while

We're making this shit up
The reasons for being are easy to pay
You can't remember the others
They just kind of went away

So you're driving, it's rush hour
The cars on the freeway are moving like slugs
When you drift off to wake up
Do you always hit the brakes?

      F#m A D
We're done lying for a living
    Dsus2 F#m A
The strange days have come and you're gone, you're gone
       Dsus2
You're dead or dying
Dsus2/F# A G G/F# Dsus2
Dead or trying to go

It's evening, you're tired
You sleep walk, a robot out on the street
Are you crazy to want this
Even for a while

You're driving, it's rush hour
The cars on the freeway are moving

A G G/F# D
Backwards into a wall of fire
A G G/F# D
Backwards into a wall of fire
A G G/F# D
Backwards into a wall of fire
A G G/F# D
Backwards into a wall of fire

We're done lying for a living
The strange days have come and you're gone, you're gone
We're done lying for a living
The strange days have come and you're gone, you're gone
You're dead or dying
Dead or trying to go

Call it serendipity, Monkey, but I was checking out your EXACT same tab
just 2 days ago. See, my drummer and I (I play acoustic, he plays a big
djimba thingy) are driving back from a gig Fri, listening to my MG comp,
and he mentions how much he likes Strange Days. To which I reply, "Yeah!
Great song! I'll learn it for you for tomorrow!" Which was why I was checking
the tab Sat.OK, sorry for the back history. The point.... When I played through
this tab first time, it didn't sound exactly right. So I put on BM and double-checked
it, and there were a few missing/different chords here and there. So what's below is
your tab, modified a bit by myself. The only real changes are the verse (it's
actually 2 different chord sequences alternating) and the end of the chorus
("dead or trying to go"). Oh, and I added the underscores so the forum doesn't
screw up where the chords are placed. Play along and see if this isn't the super-duper
definitive version. And maybe if everyone agrees, someone can add this version to the
MG Tab Site.
P.S. On Sat, the crowd gave "Strange Days" one of the best responses of the night.
And we're playing in the Southern U.S., so it's not like anyone ever heard MG before.
Sometimes a great song can do that...
