Edward Fuller
(Mayflower Passenger)

My Great-Uncle 14 Times Removed
Next
Edward, his wife (Anne?) and their son Samuel, came to Plymouth on the 180 ton Mayflower in 1620. Their son Matthew stayed behind in England until 1640. Edward's brother Samuel, also came to Plymouth on the Mayflower. Edward was the 21st signer of the "Mayflower Compact" which was created before the Constitution and served as a pre-cursor. It created a new government. Edward and his family, along with the other Pilgrims were English Separists (English Puritans) who broke away from the Church of England because they felt it had not completed the work of the Reformation. The Pilgrims wanted to live their lives based on the Bible rather than the King. They founded the Plymouth Colony. Edward and his wife died that first winter of "the general illness" leaving their son Samuel to Edward's brother to raise. Many others died that winter also.
